Turpentine for DMT extraction?

The title should make it aparent that I would like to know if turpentine can be used for a DMT extraction. Having basically turned over the entyre internet looking for the answer to this I have come up with nothing but 2 or 3 other people looking for the same answer.

I tested to see if it would leave any residue so I poured some turp into a bowl and left it in the sun. After a few hour all the turp wa gone and the bowl was as clean as when I took it from the closet.

The tree I am planning to extract it from is a Acacia maidenii but if turp can work for an acacia extraction it would probably also work for salvia.

Please some of you smart chemical folks let me know if this is possible

Thanks.

This might help.

In the comments they say...
" turpentine.
turpentine (apparently) will lock up with your water trapping the alkaloids in it, and takes days to separate, even if you think adding some Naptha *will help... no. it gets locked up with it.*

and when you do finally get it out, takes days or weeks to evaporate, and the boiling point is higher than that of water, so that is not an option.

however i have read that there is a turpentine from a certain tree in China (if i remember correctly) which is almost pure heptane."
Then...
"Turpentine distilled from the California pines such as Ponderosa Pine (Pinus ponderosa) and Gray Pine (Pinus sabiniana) yield a form of turpentine that is almost pure Heptane."
So it looks like it depends on what your turpentine was made from if it's going to work good or not.
Hope this helps, but I have no experience using turpentine.

Thanks for the post, very helpful. I am living in a small town where all these expensive chemicals are just unheard of so I'm looking for a reasonably priced alternative that can be purchased even here. You don't perhaps know of any easy to find substance that will work?

Anyways loads of thanks for the post.

Lighter fluid is unheard of?
Just get some fluid you pour into a zippo lighter, try and look for a brand that says petroleum distilate on it or naphta. I live i na little villiage so small we don't even have a hospital, yet I can find everything I need.

May I ask what your primary motivation for using Turpentine is? :)
