--TURNING ORCHID ROOT'S INTO FLOWER STEMS?--

a friend of mine mentioned the other day that i should turn the air roots up of my orchid and tie them up and they will turn into a flowering stem? Iv googled it but cant find anything,,

is this true?

I don't believe so, I've grown many many orchids and the stem is where the new shoots come from, the roots are more like rhizomes. I could be wrong, but I don't think that's the case.
Side note, spaghnum moss, a teensy bit of guano and a spray bottle are your best things to use on an orchid. Some of my proudest achievements in the world of botany is to get orchids to grow and re-flower over and over
