Turning a 10 gallon aquarium into a hydroponics system

I wanted to know some tips on what I should be getting for my new system... Links to amazon products like a stand, plant pot, pump and stuff for cheap would be appreciated if possible... If not I'd like any other information I may need or effective setups other people have gotten

you will need cardboard to wrap the aquarium make it opaque to prevent algae growth. if you need to make a lid you will require some cutting and DIY effort. you will also need netpots to fit in the lid with growrocks in them and airstones to bubble the water surface. you will have a DWC in that aquarium. look for DIY instructions for building DWC it's just the same only that your res is glass and not plastic so you just need to cover it from light

an aquarium as a dwc bucket is a horrible idea.
now an igloo cooler on the other hand is where it's at.

but if you're thinking of making the aquarium into an aquaponic system I'd give that up right now.

There's a few things this guide doesn't catch

you need lots and lots of research, no one will spoon for you the info. look up DWC and flood&drain systems, you cannot expect to turn your aquarium into a hydroponic system when you do not know what is a hydroponic system...
