All good reasons T. I get you on the messay bit, especially if you have a small space to work with. Not sure about yield though....I never got the chance to do hydro, Boys in Blue repo'd my equipment. Saying that though, the grows on RIU are pretty amazing. Good luck with the research, I am sure you will be keeping us posted on the developments.:peace: DST
yes the riu grows are the inspiration.. but im doing more and more thinking & i dont see a hydro system that can fit atleast 8 nice size girls that will fit in my tent...anybody know?

Nice update T. Those plants sure are looking like heavy chested girls....like double D's or summit:weed: Excuse me for asking, how much you pay for your glass? Looks real funky with the sherlock thing going on!! I have been discussing with the wife about my Xmas roor. I think I am almost there to convincing her to buy me one:clap:...we shall see.

Peace,
DST

lol@ dst.. the piece was only 80, im real cool wit the headshop owner.. cuz its the only one in my town..

beggin aint enuff to get the zong i want for christmas or b day from my wife. its always.. "why is that one 200 dollars more than this one"

i feel you on the dirt, i didnt think so before. but the stuff in this soil is pretty good. and i weill see soon if it does any different than fox farm. my last batch was tp'd into a organic & natural soil, that did pretty good. just doesnt give that boost that fox farm does. if i could find a cheap soil and not have to worry about my girls then im definitely on it

Well I have always used the reasonably cheap coco from one of the big hardware/garden stores here. Also has slow release nutes in it as well. this time I have gone for straight coco - but a better brand. And as you know, I have not been exactly joyous over the last couple of weeks with results (can't really blame it on the coco though - well not all of it - haha)...I reckon the best stuff you will get is by purchasing some worms, and starting a compost heap. We have been discussing today about getting a greenhouse, and what we are going to do with our garden over the summer (could be something for me to think about). The little Yins are coming along now though. Put some pics up in my thread. Triple T is getting there.

Peace, DST

...but then, I could just be full of shit.
Wouldn't imagine so McFunk.

I think it looks awesome T. How longs it got to go?

And my greenhouse will be hopefully a mix of can/veg....we'll see what the chief say's:shock:

Oh, I agree. Those look great, man.
I've just noticed that the folks who are indoor all year 'round seem to have more of the purple in the winter months when they can keep their temps lower. Also, all the slower finishing purple strains I've seen outdoors get the darkest. I just assume it's the lower late fall temps. Nothing scientific or anything I've read, Just my observation:)

Well mcfunk, my temp meter said the lowest night hs been 59.. so im guessing thats around the average temp at night. cold temps is a possibility, but the other pheno is not changing at all. but they are both finishing up nicely.

And DST, for my sog to be a true every three week harvest, they should have been done this past friday, but i'll give em till this fridy, and that may not be enuff.. but its suppose to be a 10 week strain.

i use FoxFarm 3 part@ 125%, in ph'd water.. on non feeding days its just Molasses and a carb suplement.
I'm just catchin up on your thread... Lookin good!!

I thought I read earlier on that you don't mess w/ ph @ all. But here you say you ph the water. Can you explain a bit more? I ask because I'm ph'ing everything to 6.5 for the first time with this grow of mine. In the past, everything was xmas tree green in veg w/ Ocean Forest but after a week or two in flower, shit started turning yellow w/ spots and dying. I'm really hoping it was due to screwed up ph preventing nute intake.

Thx

I thought about trying hydro, but what puts me off primarily is the temp concerns. With soil I can handle up to 85 F w/o any issues. If I was hydro, I'd need to blast the AC or buy a res chiller. It gets to 120 here in the summers, so it'd be a pain in the ass.

Also, w/ hydro I think it's far more susceptible to nutrient changes. I travel some and I'm sure I'd end up killing my plants while I'm away. Right now I just pop some ph'd water in slow-feed bottles and plug em in the dirt and I'm good for up to 14 days if I need to.
