Trying to start a mother to clone in soil indoors

I have an indoor box grow but no mother plant. Currently I am growing from seed which makes each crop that much longer to grow. I want to shorten my grow time by cloning from a mother plant. The problem is I have never grown in soil, I have enough spare lighting etc to get it set up but I have no clue as to soil nutes etc :(. Does anyone have any suggestions or links that could help me out?

Thanks.

With a mother plant why not keep it simple? Put it in some high quality soil like FF Ocean Forest or Roots organic and let it grow. Occasionally you'll need to give her some nutrients. You can do that using earth worm castings, guano, or any other quality nute. It will be very simple.

I appreciate the feedback thalboy tyvm :)

One last question if I may please currently I have a two lamp (2 foot bulbs) t-12 light fixture on chains so I can change the height. Do you think this is enough light or should I swap it out to a t-5 ballast and lights?

what thalboy said just remember those 2 soils in name r pretty much water and leave alone and the nutes try starting with a 1/4 of the recommended dosage just to be safe.
