trying to help a new grower

I stoped growing a couple years back and now go to the dispensory for meds. I never used cfls I used cmh and hps together a new grower is asking me for adv on cfls i do not remember what cfls are for grow and what for flower - can someone help me so i can help the newbe - thanks

Veg 6500. Flower 2700. As many as possible. As close to the plants as possible.
Yep and pretty good harvests can be done with CFLs just make sure you have a bunch. There is no such thing as too much. I use ~650w of CFLs and still think i need more.

CFLs are being replaced by LED "lightbulbs." Home Depot sells Cree. You only need about 30-40 watts per sq ft. They run much cooler. More lumens per watt. And, a 10 year warranty.

I'm flowering one large plant under Cree LED PAR38 spotlights (and LED "lightbulbs" as sidelight). I'm using just 18-22w/sq ft and it's flowering nicely. I intended to do 30-35w/sq ft, but the plant turned out larger than expected. I chose to stay with the low watts just to see how it would do. It's impressive. I posted photos a week ago here. It's about a week from harvest.
