Trying to aeroclone a crepe myrtle

Having some issues here. I've built a DIY aerocloner, and it has proven to work on many occasions for cloning cannibis. However, when I try to do a crepe myrtle, they wilt over in less than 24 hours.

I have distilled water, zero nutes, kept at 78f. They are under 4 4' flouro tubes on 24/0. Again, this is a setup that has proven to work with one plant, but this other is dying almost immediately.

Thanks.

I do mine with rooting hormone and a 50/50 sand Vermiculite mixture. It prefers a dry medium to root into. I have not had much sucess with hard wood propigation with aero other then arbutis

Is your crepe of any size?

If it is.the easiest method is to find a nice section and where you want the "bottom" to be, cut about 6"inches of the bark away. Do this carefully of course. Then mix a bit of rooting hormone onto some clean moss ( I use Spanish) wet the entire thing and wrap it around the exposed part. Then wrap that with wet newspaper (not too tight) and then some foil. After three weeks.... you can peek inside....you should see lots of roots in the moss. Cut just below the wound and separate it from the tree...and voila. This works...

Exactly what he said, some plants have to be air-layered.
