It's all good. I am a little disappointed you aren't the fatman i was thinking, but i should've known. There are probably still a mod or three looking to smoke him out at first sight.

I tried to get a better shot of the nozzles firing. Here's a 9 second clip of it. It's crazy when you see how little water is actually being used.

I was reading about 'dry fog' and micron size the other day, makes me wonder if the foggers that work put out a slightly larger fog particle then the 3 head ultrasonic fogger i have, because no matter how i rig it i can't keep them wet enough. And even if i could (perhaps with a chiller) i really ponder how much better they'd do at rooting a clone to be moved elsewhere eventually anyway. Its jus not worth it in my setup, i only need to clip one clone every 2 weeks, all that fogger shit i was wasting time with has been replaced by a rockwool cube and a freshly misted tupperware dish, and i know i'll have one rooting in 2 weeks.
Not sure why you don't get any wetness, perhaps it has to do with having a deep enough saturation of fog per chamber volume, or having it circulate enough to blow by and attach to the roots, it sort of sounds like your fogger might not have enough for power for your setup, but since mine does, I'll be the guinnea pig and let you know if there is any warrant for further money spending. My whole cloner box gets lined with dew after a few minutes, just like the roots would. The fog acts like a fluid, so I assume the addition of fresh circulating air is a good thing. I'll try to take some detailed pics of my components, and the condensation.

First i don't get wet enough,.. now i don't have the power. Jeez you guys are brutal ;-)
If THIS, fogger isn't powerful enough to clone one stinking little clipping, then i'll go as far to say plants HATE fog and you should keep them away from it at all cost, haha.. no but seriously, fuck fog! It just has no place for me in my grow room since i need so few clones. Even if it worked for me it'd be like owning a space shuttle to go down to the corner store and pick up a gallon of milk.

In other news,.. i took some of those extra misters i have now and tried to make a 6 nozzle plant misting system over the ladies vegging, but it doesn't seem the aquatec 6800 'has the power' either. With the res about 4-5' lower then the pump and nozzles, 12' of line total, i couldn't get them to mist at all. I'm going to mess with it more today, but feel i might need an acc tank for a multitude of reasons...

In the write up below that video it says "Cover in tinfoil, wait approx 3 weeks"....

Really neat,.. too bad its not faster and you lose an arm to do it. I wonder how much longer a clipping that big doesn't grow north of the roots, while it has to grow all new roots to catch up with such a big clipping.

Yes, in the end, fog isn't likely to do much, even I admit that. Just having fun with it since I already blew the cash a long time ago before I knew any better... Definitely an accumulator would help your situation, although don't want to be accused of pushing a shopping list... heheh

I thought about using a tote and use some 2 inch inserts to hold cloans. Then use some misting nozzles hooked to a pump in a seprate res. Maybe spray 10 seconds every minute or two. Let it drain back to the res.

Yeah something like that could work, was considering the same myself. I'm gonna try to fog, but don't have high hopes. If you already have the accumulator and what not, you could always add a seperate rooting chamber with it's own timer and solenoid, but connected to the main system. Although I think it might be better to not DTW in veg, there is generally more waste until the roots get the hp rootstructure. The closer to HP roots they are before going into the HPA, the faster they will adjust and takeoff...

Yea I thought about branching off my chamber with an additional line like you are talking. But like you said the problem would be a lot of waisted nutes. Would love to fog but was wondering how long it could substain vegging plants. Food for thought I guess!

I would say bubbler isn't a bad option. It makes nice roots, and is probably the easiest system out there. The only potential problem I see is that after awhile the roots drop making a dwc. Still, this is the approach I'm gonna take.

Air pump, stone & a bucket/tote of nutes w/collar. I went with a cheap eco-plus aquarium air pump. $10 at the hydro store. I didn't get bubbleponics at first. Once I understood wtf it actually was it seemed like a great idea. The bubbles popping on the surface of the water create pretty small droplets considering how low-tech it is. I'm seeing better roots than I ever did with my lp cloner attempts. I'll know more as time goes on.

Also, don't forget it's really simple to make an HP propagator out of a timer and solenoid connected to main water lines. Since you don't really need nutes to make roots, it should be fairly simple. My main pressure is around 80-90psi, but I know others aren't as lucky...

Just for fun, I found an old post from an old friend. DIYer might find this interesting as even cheaper than PH test strips...
"Ph is important with hydro, the nutrients are only available to the plants in a
certain range. There`s a good chance with hard water the PH will be fairly high
>7 where 6 would be better.
You can buy ph test kits
from an aquarium shop until you get a meter.
You can even
use red cabbage as a rough ph indicator too :) Take two big leaves and cut into
strips, place in a bowl/pan and pour in 200ml of boiling water. Leave to soak
for 5 minutes, then discard the leaves and let the water cool. To test, use
equal amounts of cabbage water and water to be tested.
At
PH 7 the water will turn a violet/blue colour.
If the PH is
higher than 7 it`ll turn green and if its less than 7 it`ll turn red.

Who needs a ph meter when you have cabbage "
