Trip Report: My First Trip

First of all, I would like to thank everyone here on the Hallucinatory Substances forums for the information I've gotten from threads and links provided, which helped me mentally prepare for this. As well thanks to a good friend of mine for tripping with me and overall having a great day.

Around 2 I went to my buddy's with plans to go meet some growers to provide helpful insight to my first grow. This however, didn't go as planned due to them both having things come up. So instead, we had a quarter to split which we were going to save for a fishing trip. I wasn't too sure if I wanted to do it that day, however I had just spent an amazing day with the most important person in my life, my son, the day prior and through that morning so I was probably in the best mood I could be to do it. With nothing else to do, we each ate our eighth (I ate half of mine). I was told they taste like hell, but I can't say I cared due to loving mushrooms in the first place (I have a strong culinary background). Over the next hour we played XBox, went from a First Person Shooter to Modern Marvels. At which point I became terrifyingly horrible at video games. I was starting to trip, but not too terribly. Video games were starting to make me nauseous as hell.

Around 3:30: At the point we stopped playing video games, I got up to get a drink and ended up collapsing on the floor. The cold tile floor all of a sudden felt as if I were lying on a feather mattress. The concave ceiling started to look as if it were shuttering ever so slowly. Previously when I had read or heard of things vibrating it terrified me, but when I saw what people described as vibrating or moving, I was immediately mesmerized. The rate at which the ceiling was moving was ever so slight. As I came out of the trip, I sat down on the couch and ate the remainder of my eighth.

Thirty minutes later, we went to the park! I was, at this point starting to trip a bit more, but not quite peaked (due to eating it in two doses I had multiple peak points it seemed). On the way walking to the park I noticed a part of grassy area we were walking through was overgrown with weeds/flowers etc. I was immediately mesmerized with the purple flowers and the purple butterflies. Unsure how long it lasted, but I was completely entranced with the butterflies for a while. As we made it to the park I found myself at the shoreline of the pond there pretty quickly.

For the next six hours my buddy and I were at the pond. I was tripping beyond belief and he fishing. At the park the hallucinations really started to kick in. And now, better than ever, do I really understand what the word "trip" really means. I was absolutely amazed at everything around me. Watching fish, ripples, birds, the sky and like I said everything. I started to really understand some of the philosophy texts I've written about nature and man. I truly felt a better grasp of Newton, "every action has an equal and opposite reaction." When I spat into the pond, it broke the surface tension of the water and ripples of water shot out in all directions.

I have quite literally never actually been in a state of mind where I truly couldn't give a damn if someone didn't like me. I truly didn't give a damn if someone didn't like what I was doing or how I looked. I was thoroughly enjoying myself and my surroundings. The park was semi-quiet. We were on the opposite side of the pond of everyone else, far out of reach, of sight and sound of everyone. We were (mostly) secluded and in nature. It was, as many before me have stated, bliss. I cannot truly put into words my experience, however as some have told me, "you would have had to have tripped before to truly understand."

Back to memories from my trip. At one point we went back to the house to get another fishing pole and extra tackle. When I returned the home, I found myself encased staring at two painting (side-by-side) that were nearly symmetrical to each other of a boat dock in Venice. The paintings were not simply moving at this point they were jumping out at me. The colors brilliant. Before today, I had never really cared for art. But my god, do I now know what I've been missing. After I came down from the trip, I went back to look at these paintings and I saw a lot of the beauty in them.

Overall, I have a new appreciation for hallucinogens, and will ensure to take extreme care when growing my first crop, probably more so now than I had before.

Thanks again everyone.

This is an Erowid quality TR so thanks for taking the time.

I think that one of the reasons people like to write trip reports is because it's therapeutic to talk about what you've experienced. And you may not have many or any people you know in real life you can discuss stuff like this with, so you can talk anonymously here. In the days and weeks ahead as you think about what you experienced you'll be processing and integrating the experience until it gets all packaged and put away with the rest of your memories. For example you never noticed the paintings before because in day to day life we lose our sense of awe and wonder. Psychedelics can open your perceptions in a way that is almost like taking you back to your youth or your childhood and you can see the beauty of what our adult eye see as ordinary and mundane.

Congrats on your successful trip. You've taken your first step into a larger world.

Thank you Shemp!

Brother, Mickey Mouse is the best!

If any of you are familiar with Chi energies. I've been sensitive to energies my entire life, I don't know if it was just me tripping, but I could (even now) see auras much clearer than before.

We also would play mental exercise games.....I'd say, for example, everyone stare at the front door. Now put the door on the ceiling. Someone was poised to walk in the front door and as they did, everyone lunged forward to catch him falling out of the ceiling. We would look at drapes and see if we could make them open and close. I could go on about a Pink Floyd concert in Akron in 1972, but maybe another time.

This sounds glorious. Do you know anything about spore sources? I'm at a loss for where to get spores from, and want a reliable source.

If you are looking for a reliable spore vendor I would check out sporeworks. They are located in the US. Just remember that you can't possess and they won't ship psychedelic mushroom spores to California, Idaho, or Georgia.
