trimming lower "popcorn" buds

got about 2-3 weeks left until harvest, but I noticed while feeding that some of my lower branches are almost past 70% brown pistils.

is it okay to harvest the bottom branches? or is it going to piss off my ladies? and if its not okay then they'll probably be like 90% brown in 2-3 weeks >.<

Should I trim those branches off or no?

i would chop the lower branches with the small popcorn buds because at this point they aren't really going to get bigger.. they are just taking away energy from the higher buds that are closer to the light. lots of people trim the lower branches (lollypopping) to focus energy on the big, top buds..

If you have two or three weeks left till harvest those buds will grow more, and reach full potency - I would leave them.

Im not sure myself, keep getting told yes and no by people also. Could try an experiment if you have more than one plant ( I think I will see with my latest crop also ) chop the popcorns on one and leave them on another see if you notice any difference between the yeilds. I wouldn't cut to much at once though as this may stress the plant.

how big of a plant are we talking here?

many people cut the top half or so of their plants for a first harvest and let the bottom go another week or so to reach full potential and put on some weight

So I vote for odd situation, but cut off what's done and let the rest go.

isn't it usually the opposite? The top finishs faster then the bottom b/c closer to the light? Interesting???

I have the same problem. I cut them down. It did not bother her. She kept growing buds. I kept looking at the THC with a 20x scope. When there done you can make sure.

The color of the pistils is meaningless it's the color of the tricomes you want to monitor.

My buds never get really big near the bottom.I'd rather prune them out and have the extra nutes go to the tops to fuel the big buds.

I did the same a few day's ago and had no adverse affect's,i had the same thing brown pistil's on the lower bud's so i just cut them off funny thing is that even though the pistils were brown the trich's were clear, which i thought was weird,it was at the beginning of their 6th week flowering too,and near all the pistils on the bigger uppermost bud's are still mainly white??
