Trimming harvest, equipment secrets?

Anyone have some secret technique to get this shit done faster? Just trimming the buds down with me, the gf, and her son, took us a whole hour with all three of us going steady on one damn plant... There has got to be a faster way than scissors, anyone?

Introduce music into the situation? Comfortable chairs? Trimming sucks, and to do it right, there is no easy way...Easiest way is to pay someone skilled at trimming to do it for you.

Make sure you have the right kind of scissors/trimmers that you're comfortable with...Maybe a few pairs to switch out when they get gunked up. Some iso or everclear to soak them in when they get gunked up.

Headphones. People tend to chat when trimming. Hands tend to slow significantly when the mouth moves. My wife and I are at least 25% faster when we listen to tunes on headphones.

I just crack the whip when people get too chatty...Been known to break a bottle and stick a foo' for whining about "can I go to the bathroom?" ;)

Practice... The more you do it, the less time it takes.

At the end of the day, you just spent 3 months growing the thing, spend the time and just do it right, unless you're that lazy, or have that many plants, then buy yourself a spinpro or whatever.

I have to say though, for 3 people to take an hour to trim one plant, you must either be growing veritable monsters or are a bunch of utterly incompetent trimmers :p

Well the plant was in about 15 gallons of soil, and had like 10 massive tops, not to mention the son of a bitch had to be like 6 foot tall... Hence why my est 5x5 room only has space for like for or 5 plants that large, and its like walking into spiderwebs in there with all the strings i have running everywhere supporting and bending to get best coverage. Custer fuck is an understatement, I really need to clean that room out, its been building up with dirt, root balls, dead leaves, chopped plant remains, etc for a whole year now.

That's not a monster, so my point remains. It shouldn't take an hour for 3 people to trim something like that by hand. As I say, experience, the more you trim, the faster you get. While I never did it myself, seems a lot of folk use sprung clippers/scissors. Reduces any hand cramping and keeps you trimming at full speed.

I do however fully agree with the previous points about headphones. I know that if I tried trimming with someone there to talk to, instead of just sticking my music on and grinding (as in grind, to work, not grind up some weed) then it would take me forever. Trimming isn't like peeling potatoes, you actually have to concentrate and talk is one of the biggest distractions.

Just for reference point, most pro trimmers can do a lb in at least 8 hours. Feel lucky you help with your trimming, it's a bitch doing it alone. GL.

I still have to clean up the garage to make room for it. lol Should be here in 10 business days. I'm stoked! It's not a big unit, Only runs 1/2lb at a time. I have plenty to run right now, I'll have to get back to you......

You weenies. Crying about some trimming? When I was your age, we'd get a swift beating if we complained about having to trim.

Next you'll all be asking for machines to pack bowls for you. It must be hard to have so much weed to trim, but such is life, eh???

In all seriousness, if you want trimming to go faster, quit being so OCD about it. Trim more conservatively and it will go MUCH faster. Sure, you'll have more leaf on your product, but the parts of the leaf closest to the bud are usually very frosty anyway. Yes, bag appeal is important if you're selling, but you're not cutting someone's hair, it's some damn weed bro. You'll go a lot faster and won't rape your buds as much if you stop trying to wedge your scissors into the bud in attempt to dig out tiny pieces of leaf.
