I have trimmed these two lemon skunk autos i have,
just some fan leaves that create shade and block out some light from getting to the budsites that are slowly beginning to form.

Am I helping or hurting?

ANY ADVICE IS WELCOME.
IM ALSO LOOKING FOR TIPS TO PRACTICE THROUGHOUT THE FLOWERING PROCESS.
PLEASE RESPOND!!!

Id leave it. Im sure outside its getting alot of sun. And those fan leaves help them growm and produce things needed and helpful for flowering. Maybe get a bigger pot? But it looks great, Nice grow. Show some finished pics :)

leaves are factories of the plant. less fan leaves means production is reduced. once the plant has used up the leaves' nutrients, it is discarded (yellowing). GL with your grow.

Learn about the inverse square law if indoors and photosynthesis if outdoors. Trimming larger, upper fan leaves "to get light to the buds" is counterproductive, to say the least.

You just cost yourself yield.

Helping or hurting? You are going to hear both.. But I am under the impression that once they start to flower the older fan leaves turn yellow and die anyways.. So I think they are needed up until flowering.. Nice trim job in my opinion!

If your growing ouside away from any walls or other plants then it should be getting enough sunlight.

DONT remove Fan leaves !! please ..

if anything then remove (prune) lower bud sites (bottom 1/4) bud site that wont get enough light to produce decent smoke ..
to prune them away will make the plant use all its energy on the top buds .. who have a possibility to grow in to smokeble buds .. insted of wasting energy on low bottom bud who at best will be flimsy popcorn buds at the end ..

Fan leaves as some allready toald you works as power plants for the plant .. they collect light and make it in to energy for the plant and buds ..
furter more they work as food storages .. as the plant flower it know its close to the end .. so it will begin to use up energy/food from the lower fan leaves (leaves it know it wont need anymore) ..

also ..

the colors/kelvin in the light the plant use is not visible to us ..

and its have been proofd that the only color the plant/leaves block is green (witch it dont use) ..
boath blue .. red and yellow aso. it let pass more or less (leaves is designed for it .. seems like plants is`t that stupid ;))

so what you see as shade might not be shade for the colors the plant acctualy use ..

Don't do that. Really. If the plant didn't need them she would have shed them.
