Trimming after drying question

With two prior grows when i trim before i dry bud always dries to fast and bud never smells great even after curing. This time around based on somethings i have read i am deciding to hang the plant as a whole and let it dry that way. I have a couple questions though. First i have two different strains growing so they are going to finish different times this causes a problem because i only have one tent with an exhaust. Can i just hang a plant in lets say my garage with a fan not blowing at the actual plant. Also its getting chilly here in New England so would that cause a problem. I guess i could also dry in the attic but its chilly up there to? Please any information from you guys that hang a plant as whole would be very much appreciated. When i mean hanging as whole i mean fan leaves and all. The attic might be better with the humidity as well. Also with the weather would it take that much longer to dry? I would assume 2-3 weeks.

As long is you have a decent humidity and air that is not stagnant, you should be good. What kind of temperatures do you have in the attic versus the garage?

Leaving fan leaves on will leave flowers smelling and tasting like chlorophyll...check subcools harvesting and drying thread and your dialed homie!!

If you ever dried the plant as a whole and did it right then you would know it leaves it tasting & smelling much stronger. I have harvested many plants many different ways cured all types of ways.

To answer the question OP I like the attic as it would be slightly warmer than the garage. Just watch the rh when the temps are colder or in a colder climate because they tend to have a lower rh and it can dry to fast, 50-55% rh is good. If you think your dry is still going to fast you can trim them after the leaves are brittle and fall off and then paper bag them or something else to wick the moisture out.

Temps between the attic and the garage shouldn't vary to much I would say the garage may be a bit warmer because the tent is setup in there and the hps is pretty much a heating element. Temps outside at night get to 30F so in the attic I would imagine 15 degrees warmer and the garage roughly 55-60 these are absolute estimates By the way. My concern is the RH, in the garage it seems to stay right about 30% pending on weather of coarse and I would imagine the attic would be dryer. If temps stay around 50 with low RH is that going to be a problem? I could buy a small humidifier for the attic if needed but that wont help the temps. Also the strain is crit + so colas should be fat and dense so I don't want to worry about mold. Theory behind hanging the plant as whole has me sold!

I've found trying to trim after the
leaves have wilted and covering the buds impossible. I'll never do that again

i agree with you that it's probably going to be annoying to trim but I rather that then getting bud that smells like grass/hay

you will be surprised at the result. after 2 days in a jar it will be as sweet as 3-4 week jar cure. i will always dry before trimming.

I'm pretty sure it should be fine because every time I trim then dry it always dries to fast. I just want to make sure that with my environment it can still be done by hanging whole and won't get messed up. I want some dank bitches lol
