Trichomes

Ok, all you green thumbs out there,I just got done harv and curing my first grow and my question is, are the trichomes suppose to shrink up and not look like little mushrooms anymore? I see alot of shrunk up ones but, they don't look nothing like they did at harvest.
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED

THANK YOU.

Yes, they will shrink.

The capitate-stalked glands more or less are the largest of the various resin glands produced. For these to transport from the main tissue they are attached to requires water more or less. After full drying, most of these tend to desiccate. Depending on a ton of factors will vary how much one gland from another will shrink during a drying and curing process.

The same thing applies to those small leaves. Their appearance in texture, size and colour change quite a bit as your dry and cure the plant.

Of note, keep in mind RIU had a little hiccup earlier and people are probably skipping a lot in the paranoia sweep that usually happens with all technical glitches. It's just part of the culture mate.

Thanks psari, looks like your the only one knows anything about this. I was worried when I picked up the mag glass and seen those shrunk up glands but you've eased the worry. Thanks again

Yea watch the leaves of a properly harvested plant, now I say properly. The fan leaves on a properly harvested plant will be almost crunchy sounding and puffy like they are bloated. They will shrink like the trichomes upon curing too but all that thc/cbd goodness remains when the water evaporates and the leaves will look like normal leaves saturated in the goodness you seek.

Now people who trim and the leaves are not this way, they did it too early in my opinion they lost size, potency and most important flavors. Terepens come on strong at down slope of plants life cycle which produce flavors and aromas.

I guess it depends on the plant. Mine see to maintain shape and size, but sometimes droop under the wight of the heads.
