Everyone has different ideas here. Personally, I'd start with a small amount of supplementation in veg in order to get the plants used to it. Properly hardening the plants off to UVB- whenever you do it- is a key to success because it lessens the chance of burning the plants.
Perfect thanks for that information much appreciated...........

The last time with my four footer on my first grow I burned the shit out of a couple of plants.........

Agromax has two bulbs though and most people are not aware, the one I have is the stronger bulb.......

Ty is very right about protective equipment, and hardening off plants. Wish I had read that 6 months ago. I burned the crap out of the first plant I put in my new tent running 2 AgroMax ,4 ft Pure UV bulbs. Ran them for 2 straight hours couple days in a row before I noticed what was happening.
On day 2 I was bent over doing some clean up, probably exposed for 15 minutes and got a nice sunburn for a tramp stamp. Reptile lights won't ever do that. 20161023_090244.jpg
Now I run my lights for 30 minutes total daily. Shit is very frosty in the tent.

Be careful with those lights. I think they work, but they aren't to be taken lightly.

And the damage they do to your eyes is less visible, but permanent.

Thanks man, I've used extreme caution from the start, found an old RIU thread and a web article with a cautionary follow up.

Hey on 30 minutes total, what were you running, how'd you cycle down, and what are your impressions of short vs. longer exposures?

Was running two 1k HPS bulbs, two 4ft AgroMax Pure UV bulbs, and a good night 30 watt Far Red LED bar. That's in a 6.5' x 6.5' tent.

I haven't been growing long enough that I've had a chance to experiment with increasing the exposure past 30 minutes. My fear in increasing exposure isn't so much in burning leaves, but that it'll speed up the chemistry in the trichomes and by harvest the top of the plant will be all CBD, and CBN and mediocre levels of THC.

I'm no expert, all i can do to contribute is share my observations to this point.

Thanks that's an interesting point I hadn't considered.
