Trich porn with my girls

Here they are, it's a crossbreeding - dominant haze and a healthy skunk father

It's the first time I grow this so I don't know how long will it take, hence I don't know when to start flushing. I don't want to start flushing too soon, nor too late.

So I'd like to know what the expert think from how the trichs look, It seems some of them are just turning milky, so how much weeks before I start flushing?

Now, here's the porn :)

not too long now, but i would wait till those hairs change colors more.maybe a 1-2 more weeks before start flushing. how many weeks flowering is this?

WooHoo trich porn! Very nice ladies, btw! Based on their age, the look of the pistils, and trichs, I would say you've got about three weeks left before they finish - so subtract however long you intend to flush for, and start then.

10x for the responses :)

I'll be flushing in two weeks then

Do you think the girls will gain some more mass during the last 3-4 weeks? This is how much they gained from week 4 to week 6 and a half flowering - same plant 16 days apart:

Yeah I've noticed in my own grows, that's usually when you gain most of your weight. They will pack on a little in the final weeks, but mostly what they'll do, is swell with resin - your calyxs (spelling) will fatten, giving the buds a more "plump" look.

yeah i would flush in a week that will give it 10 to 14 days to mature. usually the buds plump up towards the end

I also plan on harvesting the tops first, leaving a few more days of better light for the bottom branches, cause looking at shots from the same plant reveals the trichs on the tops are much more milky compared to the mostly clear trichs from the bottom buds

I hope thats not a bad idae, IIRC i've seen people here doing it with good results

Nope that's great, if you've got the space, go for it. I can't do mine that way, just no room under the lights. I plan on getting a 400w in the future dedicated to just that. The only thing to watch for (not the case in your current grow) in the future, would be, sometimes a plant will mature from the bottom up - then you might not want to do that.

Why need extra space? Just cut the first 12 inches from the top of the plant and then lower the light so the lower branches that are left get better light for a few days and mature to the same extent as the main top colas.

I meant harvesting the tops first, not putting a dedicated light for the bottom :)

Yeah, I know what you meant - but I grow perpetual, and there are already more plants in my flowering room, too tall to put the bottoms back in there even if I had the space under the lights. Which is to say - there are another 11 girls flowering under my lights right now, and I can't take room from any of them, to flower out the bottom buds.

well you could always put the plants on a box or something - to elevate them, instead of bringing the light down, if your setup allows is of course, but I guess if you grow perpetual the space under the light will be better used by a new batch

A few CFLs could do the trick, 400W HPS seems like overkill plus there is no way you get even distribution for all bottom branches with one light

for my next grow I will put the ladies under a screen to get an even canopy - all branches will get equal lightning

Without a screen or LST there is a great deal of light wasted. Only the top colas get adequate light, and since light decays at a quadratic rate, a lot of it's potential will be wasted before it reaches lower regions of the plant. More wasted light = less light for the plant = less bud :)

I didn't have enough time for this grow, but the next I will definitely either LST or SCROG

That's one of the reasons I top for four colas - better light for a cola than the stuff down below.

Yes, i've topped before, but topping wastes 4-5 days of growing time, at least in my experience. And I simply don't have the hearth - the girls have just picked up on growing, the last thing I feel like doing is cutting everything above the second node, thats like 75% of the plant at that stage. It takes the plant a few days to start growing those tiny branches into main colas, and with LST the shock only lasts a few hours.

Depends on when you top it I guess - I top mine when they are between four to five nodes high - usually around three weeks old, for me, and it's definately not 75% of the plant - maybe a quarter. They respond within 24 hours, and it doesn't really take much time off - I veg for 8 weeks anyway.

You veg plenty of time, I vegged only 3 weeks this time, since I have to move soon and didn't want to waste any time

10x for your responses, you've been very helpful :)

They aint dun yet mate. Cant say how long tho diff strains mature at different rates. Id wait til they look almost dun then start the flushing process. The ppl that r sayin they look close r obviously in a dream world at least another 4 weeks.....
