Trich pics - wanting some thoughts

Outdoor sativa (bagseed) been going for donkeys. This is week 18 of flower. The little hairies have turned red and starting to receed.

I'm keen to get minimal if any amber, as want to keep cerebral edge to her.

Will be doing 3 days of dark before the chop. Here's where her trichs are at now. Any thoughts on whether to put her in the dark now?

18 weeks? You are a patient woman! I agree it looks about ready to chop. If you want to wait three more days, that's up to you.

For a Sativa in particular those trichomes look good. Some Sativas will just keep flowering and flowering. I gre one once and had two indica dom crops finish in the same room and finally just chopped it at about 120 days or just about where you are. Most buds were done but it was still shoving out fresh young pistils.

It's been bloody difficult, I tell ya!!! Doing the 3 day dark thing after reading a few of the posts in here and the article about 30% increase in THC. I figure I've waited this long anyway.... and 3 days will be good timing for spare time to trim.

My fate lies in the hands of the bagseed gods. There is no doubt she's sativa. At 5 1/2 feet tall with leaves pointy as I wouldn't be surprised if there's no indica in her. Hope her THC will match a Thai. Main cola is size of my forearm, there's about 20 others the size of my hand. Will be interesting to see what the final yield is.

Thanks Shiva. I've been nursing her so long its going to feel weird chopping her. Thinking my next outdoor will be an indica. What do you reckon is a good outdoor indica strain? Looking for a moderate psychoactive that fades into some couchlock

You could do a staggered harvest if you're apprehensive. Harvest top buds and subdue the rest of the plant into 3+ day of dark.

Make sure to post some pre and post harvest pics. Great job of showing patience, it will be worth it!

Those trichs looked just about done, and I saw a few very small amber trichs in there.

Here is my Blue Cheese I harvested a bit early..I like more amber...

I should have let them go ten to fourteen more days but needed flower room!! ARRGH!

So for your plant I say few more weeks for sure.. if you want great product not ok product, as most potency and best yet smell (terepens) are not produced till way after the stage your trichs in.
