I just started growing recently this site has really helped me / got me started with it

Basicly, I was growing a seedling in miracle grow and I knew that was terrible for the plant ..

I bought a new pot and put some scotts soil in it,

when I was trying to take the plant out of the miracle grow basicly no dirt stood with the roots , so roots was dangling all over the place

I replanted it , into my new pot gave it some water and put it under my lighting system.

I was wondering the chance of my plant surviving if any?

They are very tough so don't worry to much, advice is not to fret over it, and don't overwater it, takes 4 to 7 days to get over the shock of transplant you should see it doing fine in a couple of days

next time submerge the whole pot under water (room temp, & ph'd) allow it to completely soak and get rid of air bubles (possible air pockets in soil), then plant it in the big pot

As long as it (the roots) wasn't exposed to light for too long, it should be ok... It will probably be in shock for a day or two, so don't get worried if you see no change in it for a couple days... then it should resume it's normal daily growth...

when you're transplanting, a good way to make it go a bit smoother is to water the day before you transplant.. that way the soil is pretty moist and sticks together, so you don't run into problems w/ the soil crumbling and falling off the root ball...

I use a butter knife and work my way around the edge of the pot, losening the soil on the sides so it comes out of the pot a bit easier...
