this is what i did, and be aware your plants will go through shock, and you need to be patient and pay attention.
mine had its 3rd set of leaves, and i dug it up, rinsed off the root carefully keeping then flat on my hand as i rinsed. then i dipped the roots in some cloning solution, soaked a rockwool cube and used clay pellets. i ripped some of the rockwool apart and used it to cover the roots. just get creative and be careful, let them sit in the dark for about a week and clean up the stressed leaves, leaving as much as possible, keep the enviormnt aroun d 68-72 degrees..do research on it as well to make sure you can develop a plan. its simply a waiting game and dont panic when it looks half dead, these are tough plants and they will survive. keep the water low, dont submerge them, and make sure you have plenty of air in the water. again go do a bunch of reserch but yes it can be done

Late reply I know. But for those of you still wondering in today’s day and age lol.

You can transplant from soil to hydro no matter the timing .. obviously in veg it’s safer but I’ve transplanted a couple weeks into veg & I’ve transplanted a couple weeks into flowering both with success. I’ve had plants with fat nugs and I’ve had to rinse all the soil from a fat root system.. still worked. You just have to be gentle , flush until they recoup from the stress and you’ll be golden. Some LST helps a lot before transplant though to get they’re normal stress levels higher than usual.

( IMO though the easiest time is when the plant / roots are about 6” or so to switch to a Net pot )
