Transplanting clone question

Hi everyone, this is my first grow and I am waiting for my clones to show up. From what I have read I can transplant them into one gallon pots after they get 2 to 4 inches of roots. My question is when I do this and put them under my MH lights do I need to give them a period of darkness first. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Not sure on your question.. do you mean after its rooted, and you transplant it.. doesitneed darkness?

No not really.

And doesn't really need 4 inches.. 2 inches of roots is enough IMHO. At least i do.. cuz i bonsai my moms and put them in small pots.. so clones get potted real young when i MOM them..

It should come rooted, so you can go bigger than a gallon if you have the space. As soon as you get them, inspect for pests, dust with food grade Diatomaceous Earth as a preventative, water if needed, and then place them under lights. I like 18/6 myself. The great thing about rooted cuttings is they come pretty hardy. They're a lot easier to care for then seedlings.

When you get them rooted start the lights off kinda far away and move them up over a couple of days because the heat of mh can stress them a bit. If you have good ducting and such then you can probably ignore this.
