Transplanting 58 day old plant, with N def.

Sup peeps, if any of you have read any of my other threads I have a plant that is 4 weeks into flower, and has been yellowing at the lower leaves at an alarming rate. I believe it has to do with N def, but I have noticed that I have roots growing out of the bottom of my pot. It is a 10" pot and it has MG potting mix with 40% perlite mix added in. I was thinking of transplanting her into a 5 gallon pot and use the same kind of soil, BUT the MG soil that I have is old. It hasn't been used but it has been open in my parents garage for some time now and I was wondering is it still any good? I was thinking about adding veg nutes because they are high in N after the transplant, but do you guys think this is a wise move. I'm just gonna cut her out of the pot she is in right now and set her in the bigger pot. I didn't think that she would get root bound, butroots coming out of the bottom of the pot is not good. Could this transplant cause her to hermie, if so then I'd just say fuck it and let her sit how she be. The vegg nuts are surely going to have to be used to fix the yellowing, but working with unused soil should I do this since the soil already has nutes in it or just add a little and she how she does?

Do not add nitrogen or any other nutrients after you transplant. You will shock and kill your plants. Wait a week before you add any nutes. However, I would recommend something like root 66 for when you transplant. You most likely do not have a nitrogen deficiency. It is most likely root bound. I was having the same exact problem you were having.

Hello all,

I just finished the transplant, and it looks as if all wnet smoothly. Man was this thing root bound. I'm lucky that i did decide to do this transplant because I could have seen root rot setting in within a week or two. i water her to death damn near, to make sure that all the soil was watered nice and evenly. I'm hoping that i didn't cause ant damage because I watered just yesterday. I guess i will go about three or four days before I give her any kind of water, but the size of this new pot is huge compared to my other pot. It is a 12" pot (an upgrade for the 10" pot that i had her in before. I'll get pictures when the lights come on in about a hour and a half hopefully she feels as if nothing happened to her and she will continue to bloom. I love my baby!!!:hump::hump::hump::?

Here are some pics of the plant in the new pot and a picture of the old pot (had to cut it out, it was actually very easy and the best way to do it). Like I said, this transplant went very smoothly. to tell you the truth she probably won't know that she was transplanted the way i did it. Wish i would have taken pis, but I was the only person here and my hands were filthy.

You're lucky... I lost all my fan leaves on my plant. Yours is definitely not as yellow as mine. Good luck to ya!

Naw not at this current moment, but i have been cutting the fan leaves off that have been drying and dying off. I'm really thinking that i may have a N deficiency, and I'm going to have add Vegg nutes to this plant some time soon and i think waiting a week would not be good the way the fan leaves are yellowing and dying off. I've transplanted and hopefully the yellowing will stop, but if it doesn't by next week then I'm not for sure what to do. WHAT SHOULD I DO? HELP PLZ!!! SORRY TO SOUND LIKE SOME SIMP, OR HOMER BEGGING FOR HELP, BUT I HAVE INVESTED ALOT OF TIME AND MONEY INTO THIS AND I HAVE ACTUALLY GROWN VERY ATTRACTED TO MY PLANT AND I DONT WANNA LOSE HER!!!

Some people lose fan leaves during flowering it's natural and some don't. Unless you see yellowing all over your plants I wouldn't be too concerned. What day of flowering are you on? What is the (N-P-K) of the nutes you were using before your transplanted? The plants will typically be in shock for 2-3 days but can actually last as a long as a week in some cases. There are a lot of factors to take into account but your pictures seem like a normal healthy plant. Can you actually get a picture of the area you are talking about?

No I don't really see yellowing all over the plant, only with the older fan leaves. it was a little concern when I picked her up a couple days ago and i seen roots coming from out of the holes in my pot. I know that this couldn't be good so i decided to do a transplant. I'm currently in day 28 of flowering and by the way things are looking I will probably flower for 28 more days. Thats why I'm so concerned with the way this thing is yellowing, because they may be all gone by day 45. Well i was using a(n) nute that was 24-8-16 MG All-Purpose Plant Food, but I only applied that during Vegging stage. The flower nute that I was using was 15-30-15, but i only added that one time since she has been in flower. I was a little chicken shit to add any nutes when she was vegging because i was using MG potting mix and they already have nutes in it.

Below is the pics of the plant with some yellowing leaves. The reason that you really don't see all those yellow leaves is because I have been pulling them off as they have been yellowing.

P.S - another thing, i really didn't see any shock in the plant due to the transplant, she looks a little droopy but i think that is due to me watering her the day before and me having to water after the transplant.
