transfer of clones from ezcloner to rockwool

So I've been doing all of my cloning with a 60 site ezcloner. Normally id just put my clones once rooted into my coco hempy buckets. I'm now switching my next grow to a ebb n flo pretty much a duplicate of al b fuct harvest every two weeks. So need to know if its possible I'm thinking not and I may just have to use clay pellets any ideas.

I am also switching from aero to dwc/ebb. With much thought i figure seems best to go straight into hydron clay pellets. But I think I will start clones in rapid rooters instead of my cloner.

Yea pretty much gonna have to just go straight into clay pellets once they come out of the cloner

I take the rooted clones from my DIY low pressure aeroponic cloner and put them into soaked 1.5 starter cube that I gingerly tear in half and insert the roots inbetween the layers. I then place those into the 3in rockwool cubes that are made to receive the 1.5 plugs. Although somehow I ended up with a bunch of square 1.5's and circular holes in the 3's, it still works fine though and may give alittle more room for the roots to expand and not so compress.

On a side note, I presoak my cubes and plugs for 20 min in 5.5 water as suggested by the manufactur. Then I reomve exces water from the cube witha quick flick o the wrist.

I just bought some rockwool plugs from my local hydro store. They will fit right into the holes on the larger blocks, They have a slit in one side so you can wrap them around your cuttings.

Good thread. I have been wondering if you can go straight to clay too.

Question: How large can you grow clones in an ez or aero cloner before you run into issues with the roots getting tangled? I am tight on veg. Space and would like to grow them to 12-18 inches tall if possible.

I have a 30 site, and have just upgraded a few months back to a 120 site and if you are using all of your space it wont be very long before the roots get tangled and drawn out, growing them 12-18" additionally would not be possible imo. I typically root Sour Bubble in 7 days and GDP in 10 (ready to transplant), I take the SB out and leave the GDP cuts in (but space them out as much as possible) to veg usually four or five sets of nodes and roots tend to be over 18" long and because my pheno of SB goes for 75 days I like the Gdp's to veg up for 10 days in the clone box and put them in later so I can take them all down at once. I would suggest taking bigger cuts also. I like mine to be 8-10" long.

had to shut down due to move however i think that im gonna go with small rockwool cubes and not let the roots get aslong as i have been been letting them get like 10inches before i transplant them

use the cloner until roots just start to appear and put them into your 4" cubes for few days and then you can go into the bigger cubes if you wanted. I got super great deal on like 200lbs plus of hydroton, so that's been filling my 6" net pots.

you can go strait into clay but growdan crewtons work better for me, I feel it allows the roots to get stablize with there new medium.
I think it has to do with it holding more water than clay.

Exactly get yourself some rockwool croutons. I transplant into 8oz foam cups with drainage hole poked in them. Once they develop more roots, then they go into pots of hydroton for my E&F system.
