i put my first cutting in eight days ago its getting vertical growth but no roots yet. so today i gave it 1 tablet of the starting nuets the aerogarden came with. how much more should i give it? and when?

well if its still growing then i guess its just taking its time to root, wait a lil while then, idk how long it takes for roots to form tho, may take a week

do u mean that little tiny system aerogarden with the built in light? I saw one in the growshop with basil growing in it and thought what a load of shit lol if it is put a pic up iv never seen one with weed in it. Ive heard trainwreck grows huge calyx's, some of the largest around but tastes foul. If it is that little aerogarden u mite wana start 12/12 as soon as you see roots, or they'l outgrow yr aerogarden in terms of height and rootspace. Clones will root in a hydro media with just ph adjusted water, by adding the nute tablet u could have done more harm than good, burning the delicate root nubs beginning to form. Clones generally root within 2weeks, but can take longer if conditions arent ideal. I use growth technology root riot cubes, they dont need ph adjusting, come pre soaked, organic and proven to root faster than rockwool i typically get my first roots showing in 8-9days. Did u dip the cut in a rooting hormone gel or powder? Not essential but improves cloning success rates. And if yr getting some upwards growth chances are u have some roots already and theyre just not showing thru the media yet...

it was the powder. i figured it needed nuitrients because the leaves are alot lighter than the mother. and the leaves at the bottom are yellow

if yr clone has not rooted then it has no roots to uptake any nutrients, getting some yellowing on lower leaves on a clone while its rooting is quite normal, the clone has no roots to uptake water or food hence it starts to use stored nutrients in lower leaves to keep itself alive until roots grow and provide the clone with water and food, do u have a humidity dome over the clone? If not cover it until roots are seen, an empty clear plastic drink bottle cut in half will do to keep humidity high and slowdown excess water loss through transpiration that the plant cannot replace because it has no roots, i dont know what kind of light that aerogarden uses but rooting clones need very little light to root, having the light too close can put undue stress on a rooting clone and will cause yellowing of clones also, when the clone has rooted and then u start a very weak feeding regimen and bring yr light down, these yellow leaves will probly fall off as the plant grows new ones.

i had a dome over it it, i just cut the top off of a 1 gallon water bottle. i took it off because the aerogardens bulbs make it hella hot

that says to me u'v got the light too close, clones until there rooted only need low intensities of light, they cant take being right under the light, raise the light up reduce the strain on the unrooted clone, get a dome over it, remove the dome twice a day for air exchange, when u see roots remove the dome then gradually bring the light back down a bit each day til u can just start to feel the warmth of the light on the back of your hand at plant level. What light is in that thing it cant be that powerfull?

didnt it come with anykind of spec or datasheet? I would think its some sort of cfl or a small tube flouro. Il try to find out what light it uses.

today i just got back from a camping trip and i was hella surprised that my sick clone had gotten 100% better its leaves perked up, hella roots were poking out of the sponge, and mostly vertical growth.
