touring the world with weed...

well as some of you guys might no that I've had a few work and health problems lately.

Well I've decided that when I'm well again I'm going to go to Europe for about a year or so.

I was just having a bit of a smoke with a friend and we came up with an idea...

I've got this idea.
I have enough money to get me, the missus, and a few extra bags to Amsterdam, and if the cost of living isn't too expensive, I should have enough cash to survive for about 3mths.

what I'm thinking of doing is taking my lamps and the rest of my gear over to Amsterdam with me, buying some seeds or clones and set up shop while I'm living there.

the only thing is, I'm not entirely clear on a few things about Amsterdam and the law concerning weed there.

If anyone could answer these questions it would be great:

• Is it legal for just anyone to grow? if so, how many plants and are there any rules I would have to follow?
• Do the cafe's buy anyones weed thats good? or do they grow their own?
• what are the average going rates for a nice strain like Jack Herer or Mazar. per once and per pound?
• whats the cost of living like? I'd be looking for a 2 bedroom place, quiet area, preferably a house.

Thats about it for now.

I don't know about cafes purchasing from you, but renting an apartment in the Netherlands you can get a long term apartment (2+ months) for about 800-1500 euros a month. A house about 15 minutes from Amsterdam can be a lot more, but I did find this OpenDNS for 1500 euros a month.

If you plan to stay more than 90 days you will be legally required to file for a residence permit. You can find more information about that here

Here is a good place to go before seeing a lawyer to see if you may qualify to live legally in the Netherlands. The immigration wizard on this page is a good start.

you just seem to know a fair bit about it.

the growing idea was just one of those things you come up with while smoking... but I'm still half curious about it, and whether or not its totally legal, I can only find info about the whole "5g or less in public" law, and 500g for cafe's.

I have been there and spent a few weeks. Great city! There should be no problem getting a job. I would look into the long term thing though. You would to apply for something like a green card.

as far as i know any one can grow...im sure it is a limited amount of plants but i dont know the exact #......and for the ? about selling to cafes....I was raised in a little town in Holland , my father was in the military and we were stationed there for 6 yrs...and i do remeber that our neighbors grew and sold to a cafe in Amsterdam...

it does, I still want to either see the laws on paper, or talk to a lawyer tho. I was thinking I might also work in a pub or somthing while I was over there, my friend went over and said that they love Aussie bar staff.

I'm looking into the cafe thing as well, I've sent off a few e-mails to some of the bigger cafe's trying to get some info, I've noticed that alot of them actually grow their own stock as a way of keeping overheads down (kinda what I thought)

lol, everywhere loves australian bar staff.

i have a dual citizenship (my mother is australian, and I have lived in aus my whole life. but my father is a british citizen born and raised) to Aus/UK.
so yeah, I am doing the HSC now, and after that I am doing RSA course (responsible service of alcohol), then going over the england for a holiday
