Total Plants RDWC Growable under 400W HPS via LST Method?

Hi All.

I'm in the process of designing my Grow Closet to incorporate a Mother, Vegetative and Flowering partition in the whole closet.

After reading up I have decided to go for a RDWC system for the Flowering side under a 400Watt HPS lamp. I prefer the Sativa dominant variety and to save on height space I'll be implementing the LST method.

Now apparently a 400watt HPS lamp can cover maximum 1 Square meter of grow area, witch is fine for me but not too sure how many plants I can support under it via LST.

I'm going through different suppliers to find a decent bucket size to fit the plants individually in their own bucket.

My question is this:

1 - How many ladies can I flower under a 400Watt HPS via LST? I'm thinking around 4 to 6 plants but not sure - LST growers help appreciated.

2 - RDWC - There's seems to be 2 types of watering in these 2 systems. 1 reminds me of the Ebb & Flow system where the plant buckets are filled with nutrient water witch submerges the root ball, then drained. The other is where the plant buckets are used to simply catch runoff from a dripper at the top of the plant - Witch method would be the best in terms of supplying nutes to the plants?

3 - What would be the optimal bucket size for LST that is just big enough in width & height that does not restrict the root ball, yet that has a low profile to reduce overall space usage. My reservoir size is dependent on the total volume of all grow buckets and would like to keep this down as much as possible.

Some would argue that a simple DWC would work better but I don't wanna go around through various reservoirs setting up PH and nutes - 1 reservoir, one tank to maintain liquids etc.

I'd appreciate feedback from you all!

Peace
