topping

My plant is 21 days old. I want to start 12/12 and add some "Tiger Bloom" TONIGHT, but I just fimmed today. Should I wait, or does it matter? I need to rush this bitch through. In-Laws will be here in mid Sep.

I just fimmed 1 of my plants...if my fimming doesn't go as planned, what are the more likely results of it?

it depends on you grow size restrictions, if you have plenty of space i would suggest on leaving it a little longer untill you have two branches split off from where you headed it, More branches = More buds.. Also read up on when to flower some people argue to only force flower a plant when the nodes are alternating.....but this can take some time...

So if you fimm, you can get more of a yield then? Im under the impression you will get 4 big colas instead of just two if you top it. That sounds good to me, i'd love to have four colas, thank you

if its big enough, yes you can use it for a clone. it may take a little while longer to root than a cutting from the lower portion of your plant but it will root eventually.

I've been topping all my faster growing strains, plus I've got plenty of time to veg, otherwise I probably wouldn't if all I cared about was time.

Topping is an excellent way to control height. As this is usually not a problem for me, I generally do not top my plants. IMO, although topping produces more colas, I think that the plant slows down its growth rate a little in reaction to trauma? It seems that the untopped plants, in a side by side comparison do not appear to slow down and therefore produce slightly fatter buds overall.(if harvested at the same time)
This has been my observation over the years, but I've never kept records or weighed anything to make certain....just a hunch!
Excellent answer. I believe topping is an indoor requirement that serves only to control height. You can only push what the plant will genetically be able to do. Topping splits up the same yield.

anyone have a clue on how short I can get my plant to be just right before it's harvested using LST + topping?

Topping one of the oldest tricks. No matter what you have heard topping is not clipping off
bud tops. Topping is removing about 3/4 of the top growth tip. This will cause the plant top
to split into two tops. This technique can be used to produce up to about 4 tops on a plant.

U do not cut the stem or the top off!!!!!!.......
