Topping

Simply put, topping is cutting from the top to the first node. But don't get fooled. It will stop it from growing MUCH higher, but it'll still grow a little higher than where you cut it.
THe benefit of topping, depending on who you talk to, could result in bigger buds, more resin, what have you.
I'd personally say that simply put, it's just a good way to keep your plant from growing too tall and having lightburning issues, and to keep it stealthy.
Here's a little "Tutorial" on how to top:
1- Look at your plant and approx how high you want it to be.
2- get sizzors or anything that'll make a nice clean cut.
3- Clean them from anything that could be problematic
4- simply cut as close as possible to the node (where the branches part from the main stem), wihtout the leaves or branches on all sides.
5- Let it heal itself, you may see a small small stop in growth, usually for a maximum of 3-4 days, and it should pick up right after, but in getting larger.
After doing this, just water it as you want to, and so on.
Oh, and as or when.... Whenever you decide, although I wouldn't recommend in you 6th week of flowering. Aim for as close to as the 6th node appears, that's a kind of sweet spot.

Wait as long as possible. The more fuzzy sticky bulbs in the buds the better. (is the THC) Look at then thru a magnifying glass. BUT! Awww Mr ganja, An infraction?
