Topping My Plant Re:Ghetto lighting

so if i understood you right then im supposed to cut right under the leaf stem and right above where it rises out of the last set of leaves.
and will this effect my plant growing new leaf stems and rising upwards with height.




am i right?

If you chop the undeveloped top node, the nearest top branches will become the tops, but will still continue to grow vertically a little bit. It's best to top before you reach your height limit.
