The idea is to top the plant, which will result in two colas .The two will be cut as well making 4 colas. resulting in

yes but the colas get smaller everytime you do this.. so your not increasing yield.. but it does make it a more manageable plant for smaller spaces..

How does it not increase yield if cola's have the most bud on them. Im assuming more colas = more bud, no?

Reefcouple is right you wont usually get more from topping, but you may depending on the strain. So strains liked to be topped and others do not.
