Doesn't really matter. If you were to just sprinkle it on it would wash itself in once you water. Mixing it into the top couple inches will ensure the roots on the surface access to those nutrients.

Guano is potent, don't over do it.

First, mix guano into soil. If sprinkled it can clump up when watered and create a barrier.

The amount depends on the type of guano. Some are 1 to 2 tsp for 1 to 10 gal. Some are 1 tsp per gal.
Some are 1 tbsp per gal.

Which ever , That amount should last 30 days. Apply next guano then.

NEVER LISTEN TO THE GUY AT A HYDRO SHOP.

they dont know what they are talking about and are only out to make money.

If anything you want to know about compost, teas , and/or guano. Look up Dr. Elaine Ingham. One the most renowned microbiolgist in the world. Or look up her site soilfoodweb.com

A tsp per gallon of soil is ok to use with most plants. But since you talked to a hydro store guy lets make sure you're using the right guano for the job, as sometimes they don't even ask what you need it for.

Are you vegging or flowering? If you're flowering make sure the guano is only high in P, you don't want to use anything high in N like seabird or Mexican guano while you are flowering.

But yea, you don't have to sprinkle it in any special way, when I used guano I just used a tablespoon for 5 gal pots and dumped it around the roots and then just raked the top of the soil around a little with my finger's, no science. Like Nullis said, once you water it all mixes up.

He shouldn't have told you to use the 13-12-2 for flower. Definitely don't do that, your plants will scare you lol. You can use the 13-12-2 the first week of 12/12, but that's it. And I'm assuming it's puruvian seabird guano, which you can fry with if you're not careful, so make sure you don't use more than the recommended amounts. I had some Chemdogs a year ago that had some really weird gross looking buds on it from using a little too much of it, and I had to stare at them for the next 8 weeks trying not to cry. :-(

mix the guano with some compost. mix it up real good like, and make a donut around root crown, but allow crown to breathe. water thru this.

I use half to 1 tsp (Peruvian) for small plants\clones, half to 1 tablespoon per gallon of soil or water for larger plants. It's better to mix it in with the soil on the bottom of the container during transplants, along with some kelp. This way the roots will grow slowly into this more nutritive zone.

Later on it gets brewed with, or if there is no time just mixed with water. Peruvian seabird from Sunleaves comes pelletized, when added to water it takes an hour or two to fully break down. PSG is fine to use during the first half of bloom, as plants do still require nitrogen during this period. What you should do after the first couple weeks of 12\12 is use another high-P guano in conjunction with the Peruvian. For example if you mix a half tablespoon of Peruvian (12-11-2) with a tablespoon of Jamaican (1-10-1) you essentially have a 3.5-8-1. You shouldn't use any raw guano within 3 weeks of harvesting.
