Top Cola Harvest???

Hey Riu, My girl has been flowering for 9wks now. The bottom branchs look like they need some more time but the top cola looks ripe. Was wondering if and how I would harvest just the top. Would this be bad for the plant. Anything special I should do if I decide to do it....Thanks!

Just make sure the trichomes on the cola are mature to the point you like and cut the cola off. The rest of the plant will continue to mature. Works fine.

alright thanks! also I been watering with water only for 2.5 weeks now do you think its ok to contiue like this for a little while longer or should I use some nutes again? thanks

I respecfully disagree, I believe that plants always need NPK and especially P when flowering. I have also seen scholarly arguments that flushing has no effect on the level of nutes in finished buds. You may be surprised how long the plant continue to produce beautiful buds and they won't do that without food.

depends, how imature are your other buds if there gonna go another 2 weeks u might wana hit with a lil light flowering nutes to fill out those fluffy spots

just the fact that you'r starving you'r plants of nutes for that period of time will lower nutes in the entire plant how mutch will actually leach out of healthy buds is up for debat but from wat iv tasted it does make a difference. I find nuggs that were not flushed give you the kind of weed that doesn't like to burn so good atleast in pipes you get a black chunk of coal that doesn't taste of the delicious dank the first 3 hit's had

I say chop the top and it will be fine, personally I never flush and and use the full NPK all thru flower.
Also never get black ashes, mine always burns white.

Thanks for the replys. I would think 1 to 2 more weeks for flowering. The buds are pretty fat. 90% redhairs, trichs I would say 10% amber 50% cloudy and 40%clear. There seems to be more amber on the leaves then the bud. I would like to get 50amber and 50cloudy. I havent used any nutes for 3weeks. Seems like in the last week nothing has really changed. Fan leaves are yellowing.
