took the big fans leaves off and will pull next week

I just took off the big fan leaves and i am going to pull next week. I don't like to keep them growing to long because i believe that if you go over the red hair period the thc is going down. I stop watering a week before harvest and believe the thc goes to the top of the flower. I am about 60 percent red hair now on my indica mix. I pulled the big fan leaves in order for the plant to concentrate the thc to go to the flower. My question is does anyone here cut the big fan leaf a week or so before harvest? and second question is do you keep plant in the darkness for a couple of days before harvest? Do you harvest in dark or sunlight? I stopped watering and did a good flush a week or so beforehand. She is in a container.

because you "believe that if you go over the red hair period the thc is going down"?

Well I believe in the tooth fairy, but that doesn't mean the money is burning a hole in my pocket LOL

What usually happens after the hairs turn, is more new flowers keep pushing, and your buds continue to bulk up, but I suppose lots of folks never get to witness that process.

My fan leaves generally all fall off by the time I harvest.

Do you ease out the Nitrogen from you nutrient mix as you approach harvest?

The red hairs are one indicator, but a better indicator is getting a 10x magnifier and looking at the crystals. You want them to be cloudy to slightly amber.

The whole dark period before harvest is opinion. The jury isn't decided on this technique.

That is i believe if you go over the 100 percent red hair the extra bulk does not make up for the potency.

I am organic in container and use the nitrogen only at the beginning and half way through. I use molasses and seaweed mix at end. no nitrogen. i believe chemicle fertilizers make a harsh smoke and like to have my flowers clean of anything.

A week ago 90% of the folks on this board told me to harvest.

Now look at the growth spurt I would've missed if I had listened

See the new flowers :hump::hump::hump:

This plant to me is way overdone. Of course this is only my opinin. You are losing the sweet smoke and potency. I harvest when the plant is fully alive and not half dead.lol ... do u have seed there?

True ... but I harvest when the plant is alive and well and not dieing. I take off the bIG fan leaf only right before harvest by a week or so. Anyone?

You might be waiting to long and will lose potency to gain bulk. I believe there is a opportune moment to harvest and I stress my plant at the end by picking large fan leaf from main stem only and stop all watering a week or so before harvest also. the smaller fan leaf will suffice for the photosenethis ... No?

how is stressing the shit out of your plant going to produce thc? its going to stop using its enegery to produce thc and use its energy trying to heal it self?
and seconded of all how am i going to loose thc by waiting not like the plants going to suck the thc back in

imo
