Too much Perlite?

My plant is 1.5 ft tall and everytime I water it near the stalk the plant falls over. Seems like the root system is weak and I'm thinking because I might have put too much Perlite in it. Is there a way to make your soil more dense? My soil seems to be too airy. :wall:

if you can add more soil to the top, and maybe you are over watering let it have a week until you water again,. that might let the roots stretch out some and make it more sturdy, the roots need air as much as water dog!

Nah, some people use nothing but perlite...you need to water around the edge of the pot and let it dry out (a little) so the roots will seek water and grow...this will hold your plant in place, until then use wooden kabob skewers to hold it up...got any pics???

Stake it like a tomato plant if it keeps falling over. If the plant looks healthy otherwise, it can't hurt anything.
