Ok so I started my first grow ever over in the CFL thread after i constructed this mad scientist design using @gardenknowm's idea... Now growing and learning at the same time, ive done nothing but read and listen all day today learning about aeroponics and hydroponic grows and it has been a roller coaster of ideas , and connecting bridges so please excuse me if i have retarted questions and may need re assuring:wall:

CONCEPT: 35 Gallon Sterlite Resevoir tank underneath a tray topped with 3x 18 gallon Sterlite each containg 8 net pot plants 3" in diameter 4 on either side of tote. 396GPM Pump or better??(yes or no) in Resevoir which is circulated with 2 large airstones pushes water up 1/2 inch pvc pipe into each tote each containing a single pvc pipe straight throught the 18 gallon tote with 5 sprayers attached to it. Tray angled slightly to elevate totes for better draining back into resevoir by means of shower floor drain at end of tote sealed and attached to 2" pvc which drains directly back into resevoir and is recirculated back through again. This is all being grown in a grow tent which i have yet to purchase but have been eyeing a few. Also need to get inline fans and exhaust fan and filter, plus 400-600 watt hps light? Is there a big difference in electric a month vs the lights watt wise? Will i get more yield with a 600 watt vs a 400 watt hps? BC if a 400 watt hps light plus fans and pump will only jack my electric up 40$ a month... thats not noticeable like a new tv and a few lights on a day easily not noticeable..but what would a 600 watt be? conversion wise i forget the math...so basically buying a whole grow setup for $550. Its cool cuz ill have tons of ganja to burn!

QUESTIONS:

1. TO change your resevoir, do you directly take it out or just drain it? I think draining it would seem easier but still trying to understand hydroponics and aeroponics as whole still :wall:
2.If my resevoir is 35 gallons does that mean i have to put 30 gallons of water or do i put a respectable amount above pump?
3. Can I fill resevoir with hose water? As long as PH levels were ok?
4. Will this design prevent root rot? being that its not sitting in water?
5. how do you setup a timer to run aeroponic sprayers?
6. How long do you run sprayers for?

Please help if you can as I am ready to purchase everything and would like feed back....if possible....

Yea I have done the same thing. I wouldnt use pvc though. I would just use the black flexible hose and straight attachments through the bucket so the spray line can e be disconnected for cleaning but is still water tight. It will work.
