Too dark?

hello all,

Let me give you a little info. I'm growing DWC with solar storm 440 per plant and two plants total. They are just regular cheese. I started from clone, and have got to watch their clone siblings grow with someone else. This is my first grow and as all noobs I have made some mistakes.

My two known previous issues:
1.For some reason I felt my girls needed a daily hair cut.
2. I think I was forgetting about the whole water part and just wanting them to live in nutrient.

Which resulted in slower then normal growth(yet still healthy looking) however ran into a brick wall, they stopped drinking and all leaves started curling up and dark dark green(I'm thinking it was nitrous toxcicity.)

The good news is through info on this board I am headed into the complete right direction. Growth is strong, and new growth has nice form. I did identify what seems to be calcium deficiency (brown spotting on new growth) and purple stem(mother and sisters are green stem) so maybe magnesium? Well nonethe less I got some calmag. I'm using general hydroponics A and B setup. Right now I'm giving 10ml A 5ml B 2ml calmag and 5ml orca per 5 gallon bucket. So PPM is low at like 400 on my meter. Do you guys notice anything that is still off in these pictures? Since I started adding the calmag growth has really taken off last two days getting about a inch a day.

Edit:oops add second pic

first

your plants look good

theres no reason to do anything about the leaf curl or dark green except feed a little less nutes, just let it ride

second; stop guessing at what you think is wrong and responding before confirmation of whats actually wrong or your going to have trouble

I say this because in your first post you said calcium def in new growth but calcium def doesn't affect new growth
then you said magnesium def and purple stems but magnesium has absolutely nothing to do with purple stems

im not trying to spank you down or anything I just don't want to see you mess it up since they look great

how do the roots look? are they nice and white?

tell me about your fertilizer

you've got the 2part dou from GH yes, along with calmag

tell me the NPK and calcium and magnesium % numbers from each of the two bottles A&B and I can help you sort out how much calmag and or Epsom salt youll want to add to get your mix balanced

manage your reservoir with these rules in mind

EC/PPM goes down and PH goes up, feed more
EC/PPM goes up and or ph goes down or stays the same, feed less

I'm sorry I've been reading so much I can't keep it all straight. However I may of found some bad info. But I won't even travel backwards so I included photos of roots and bottles. Side note roots don't look spectacular on little one but all the white is pretty much all new growth and all the discoloredness hasn't spread since. And the 5-0-6 is A.

Edit: tap water a mysterious 180 ppm. I've never considered mine to be "hard" water though.

im not able to read it from the pics

Let me show you where I was a week and a half ago......probably almost dead lol. Magnesium in A is .1% and B is 1.5%. Also here's the label on my calmag

the way your mixing is good its just too hot

I would replace or dilute whats in the reservoir... do you have an EC meter (preferable) or ppm meter?

the max dose you would want to use of the part A and part B for veg is
8mls and 4mls....max

after you give me the calcium and magnesium info I can tell you how much calmag and or Epsom salt

btw your roots look good

I appreciate the help I'm trying to get a grip on this whole nutrient thing. But apparently I either got bad info or mixing it up. So many things can be this or that. What is purple stem usually? When it's not genetics at least.

And what is all this jazz about people talking about 8-1200 ppm? When I experienced my complete shut down I was trying to push into the 800 range. I'll test my tanks now, but they did drink a solid quarter of bucket, my regiment has been complete res change weekly with top offs daily with ph balanced water. Keeping ph between 5.8-6.0. Let me check ppm for you though.

After top off big bertha is at about 310ppm and little Lilly about 280, meter is kind of jumpy so I try to take the most consistent number seen

full strength
per gallon

veg formula

8mls part A
4mls part B
2mls calmag
1/4 tsp Epsom salt

bloom formula
4mls part a
8mls part b
2mls calmag

for s slightly stronger EC mix it the same but with slightly less water
for a slightly weaker EC mix it the same with slightly more water

manage your reservoir with these rules in mind

EC/PPM goes down and PH goes up, feed more
EC/PPM goes up and or ph goes down or stays the same, feed less

don't use other peoples ppm as a guide to what you do

ppm meters are not all the same and depending on the brand will give different readings

EC is universal and therefore a better way to track your needs

don't mix it any other way, don't add any additives or additional products that contain fertilizer

for example don't add silica containing K cuz itll throw out your formula

the above mixes are balanced and will work perfect if you don't fuck with them

Now currently I was doing my 10ml and 5ml for the whole 5gallon bucket. So I should be using 40ml and 20ml!?

if theres 5 gallons water volume in the bucket...then yes

does the bucket contain a full 5 gallons?

is it filled to the rim or close

I suppose I haven't measured to see, they are your standard 5gallon bucket from your hardware store. I've been filling up to maybe 2 inches from the top.
