Im starting 5 Tomahawk seeds by Greenpoint seeds. I've heard alot of things about GPS but these looked fire as hell. I'm staring them under a hlg 65 and as they get bigger I will add more lights.Im starting them in Organic Mechanics seed starting soil then when I transplant they will go into Fox Farms Ocean forest blend.

Nutrients,
Floranova Grow & Bloom
Armor Si
liquid koolbloom
Myco chum premium microbe food
photosynthesis plus
and Mammoth P

I plan to top at 5 nodes take that as a clone and flower the clone to find out which are Male and Female, Then transplant to 5 gallon Phat Sacks and flower them out.

Hell ya man thanks for the info, I've been eyeing these for a while and got a sick deal on them on black friday. Any pointers on these? were they light feeders or heavy? was it a good yeild?

Great answer smartass, lol. Not asking exact yeild just is it a heavy yeilder, light yielded or in the middle. I know too many factors play into the yeild.

I can't really give advice. I'm fairly new to indoors and I grew those trying different setups. Oh all the money spent in 2 years... But they did yield good looking like hack jobs lol. I would say they are big yielders. I'm in organic soil so I can't really say if they feed heavy. I want another pack

I'm not a super experienced grower, only having 1year and 4 grows under my belt. But I am growing GPS tomahawk currently. (For the first time) I'm 31 days into 12/12 now. In my limited experience it is a heavy feeder compared to the other 2 strains I have grown. Also, vegged slower that the other 2 strains I've grown. But grew so fast, and streched under 12/12 light cycle. Took quite a while to show sex, and to develope buds. Like 20 days long to get very distinct white pistols. I thought my light timer was messed up.
Cant say for yield. I'm growing 5 plants in a 4x4 under 600w of vero29 cobs. 5 plants because that's how many females I got out of a pack of 11.

That's good news to me to get 5 in a pack of 11. That's how many came in my pack, I would be happy with 5 females. I've heard Gps strains has a bad male/female ratio but the strains look fire as hell. Thanks for the info Bud I hope I get something good.

Yeah I heard the same on the M/F ratio about GPS. I have another pack of GPS gear(bodega bubblegum) I'm hoping for 5-6 female there too. I've previously only popped fem beans. These were my first regs.
Hope all goes well for you too. I had my seedlings under an HLG 100, about 36inches away in a 2x4 tent. I had a bit too much stretch that far away. So not sure how far away you HLG 65 is but just a dumb thing I did. This was the first time I had seedlings under it. I've previously only used T5 lights with seedlings. I'll be following along looking for similarities if you dont mind. Also I did get one mutant plant. Turned out to be Male. Had the strangest leaves.

Ya I'd say my light is like 2 feet away right now and dont seem to really be stretching. I will lower as they get bigger and can handle it.

How do you like the Hlg 100? I'm gonna purchase the Hlg 135 as soon as I can afford it. I have 3 of the Hlg 65's and I love these Quantum boards they are powerful as hell and really efficient.

I love it. So bright for 100watts. Does a great job for veg. I need another one, but been thinking about building a light.
Yeah 2 feet is much better than 3. The stretch wasnt too bad, but one or 2 wanted to fall over. Have you tried any other LEDs?

No I haven't tried any other lights at all. I did research and went straight for he Hlg's. lol
Ya I would love to build one of those samsung strip lights, but I'm not the best with wires and electrical shit. I'm gonna get the Hlg 135 kit and put it together and see how that goes and maybe build one from there. I have also been researching the cob lights, I would love to purchase a Timber light but they are pretty expensive.
How about you what other LED's have you tried?

I built my main light from a kit. I wasnt sure how to build a light and calculate voltages and current and pick a driver etc. So I just got a kit to save on labor cost. Its 600 watts of vero29 COBs. Since then I've learned and could now comfortable source and build my own light, but have no need lol. I want to build a strip light with these new photoboost strips from Pacific light concepts. They're made from Samsung 301b diodes, with a cree photo-reds added in to the spectrum. Might just add to my existing main flower light for a few extra photons on the canopy. These Tomahawk plants like their light bright. Except they streched more than I anticipated and are a little close to the light already. Live and learn. I need another 100ish watts for my veg tent. And I do love HLG. Pretty much plug and play.
