Today's GAMECHANGER by Health Canada. Death of Dispensaries?

This is insane! Beginning of the end of Dispensaries? :finger:

I know there are a lot of Trudeau nuthuggers here and I'm, frankly, very skeptical of his medical marijuana stance. I know he has buddies in the LP world, including those who are also Liberal Party advisers/directors but Justin has talked about a regulated storefront model. I have a sneaky suspicion Dispensaries will be OVER with and only LP Storefronts will be allowed. This will suck major ass because HC limits are shitty. We need unregulated limits on our extracts! How is this going to wash out, fellahs?

I saw this too. Not surprising unfortunately, figured this would happen after the initial round of dispensary busts. This is quite similar to the MMAR threats in that they want you to give them 'proof' in writing that you are no longer dealing with the devil's weed :fire:

There will hopefully be a court case put forward by the dispensary in Alberta that was busted, and Allard will obviously play a big role here. I'll be interested to see how this plays out with the VPD and the big dispensary players in BC, Dana Larsen in particular.

I share the concerns regarding Trudeau, recently he released a statement saying he wasn't confident that corner stores will check ID's accurately enough (prohibitionist BS). It seems at every turn he'll parrot whatever line of bullshit the Conservatives are to avoid looking 'weak'. Mulcair doesn't exactly have a great policy on cannabis right now but I'd put more trust in him than I would Trudeau at this point.

I'll also be very surprised if LP storefronts are ever allowed (it'll be under Trudeau if it happens).

The Smith verdict did not have any restrictions so that will be another fight at taxpayers expense

i was told that the RCMP were told not to enforce things until the case is settled by a supervisor at the RCMP here in BC so I wonder how this will play out

Anyone have a good guess as to which Dispensary received this cease and desist letter?

Yeah, realistically if the RCMP start a fight about this Vancouver is going to be ground zero. HC's response to Smith is laughable and it will be back in court.

Not to mention that Larsen and others have some money to fight this garbage, this is just more bullying from HC before the Botox Queen is booted out.

they have a deadline of Sept 24 but there will be a new sheriff in town come Oct 19 so I think they are blowing hot air and posturing so they look "tough on crime" but they aren't realizing that we know they are focusing on the wrong crime. how about they go after the pharma abusers first. they are a lot worse that any MMJ patient.
even the most kind hearted person who gets hooked on opiates will change into someone very selfish. it is just the drug! it takes away your "you" and replaces it with "someone else"

No kidding. Ambrose apparently leaks outrage about cannabis but Fentanyl is no big deal.

Any BC dispensary with a few dollars in their pocket is going to ignore the empty threat. Like someone else said, there's a new sheriff in town come Oct. 19 so it all means nothing. It might actually work in our favour if the dispensaries make some noise during the election...A "Stephen hates the sick" campaign could work.

So ya'll believe The Hippy now ? some think I'm just on a soapbox with my BOYCOTT LP's.
If ya can't see that harpslug and HC want to FORCE your MMJ business to the coveted LP mmpr system...your fuckin blind.
If ya buy from LP's your just part of the problem. Find a good BM source and fail the mmpr. Can't you see if it fails....your gonna WIN at some point.
Fuck man...don't buy from the enemy......
Call to all mmar grower...help another patient and fail this raping of the sick by dictator government.
Fuck this is exasperating trying to get folks to see...you don't buy...they don't sell.......it's fuckin war....WHO CAN'T SEE THAT ????
Start fighting back and drop all LP orders where they sit...cancel it and tell em why.
Stand up people...... or get screwed forever.

I saw it in the news a little while back about a crackdown on advertisements for mj. HC had said they were going to crackdown on those who advertise illegally, because, as far as I know the adverts are illegal in any form. Not too sure though.

No doubt the mj scene will change come the new year provided the cons don't get re-elected, but as far as the lp thing goes, it's gonna be a shit show if the market even opens a bit.

At least, given time, and demand for good product, any producers will either have to provide a quality product or fold. They won't have the protections and monopolies they have now when more producers are legally able to join the market.

I'm optimistic things will get better, as it is now anything would be better than the current situation.
