I cut at the main stalk were the chute is growing, not just a fan leave, i basiclly cut the bottom 1/3 of the plant, by that i mean everything coming off the main stalk the first 1/3 of the plant

Sorry gotta call BS. I was under the impression it is quite the opposite. I thought the plant made trichomes to protect itself from the UV light..shows how much Rambo knows(maybe I'm wrong)..as for two pounds a light..thats pretty easy with a little space, veg time, and the right strain..I can't say anything as to your experience with the method..your experiences are your experiences and you should stick with whatever works for you.....okay, from what I understand...the trichlones are made by mothernature to mimic a magnifying glass, which inturn, intensifies the light on THE BUD. As the urban grower "Ramo" shows us in his videos ( http://urbangrower.com/ )...we can remove our fan leaves. He suggest to, and he harvest 2+ lbs. per light. In my eyes, that's hard to argue with. I started removing my fan leaves in wk#2 and wk#3...and wk#5....and I honestly can say, without a doubt, I've been getting the best yields ever with this method. ( 1/2 gram per watt ) No offense to leaf lovers

If your keeping an eye on your plants in veg, and know when you're going to flip to 12/12 then "I" would clip it 3 days to a week, depending on how much you want to clip. Then throw that bitch in there a see how she does, and if you don't like it then do it another way, until your happy. /-)

Trimming is a bad word to use IMO as it conjures images that there is much to be trimmed. I usually will cut away a few leaves only if they are in the way of or detrimental to other developing colas. I try to leave fan leaves alone but if they are shadowing out smaller popcorn bud I want to fill out I will cut it away. Any pruning done should be at the absolute minimum... I have defoliated in the past to find it usually produces smaller bud.. I other words you can get more bud from removing some leaves but it will be more popcorn bud. Any pruning should be done mainly at the base of the plant and in late flower stage. That being said a snip here & there can help increase yield if pruning is strategically targeted to increase light penetration to certain areas that need it. This only applies to dense canopies like SCROG or SOG where LSTing is no longer feasible.

It seems like people have great success with many different methods, and one method won't be right to apply in every situation. For example, I've mainlined my two current plants and they're monster wide bushes, and the upper canopy pretty much eclipses the undergrowth from receiving any light. In this situation, I'll be pruning much of the undergrowth in a few days, 2 weeks into flower.
