To the Deadhead OG Growers

I was wondering to anyone who has grown the Deadhead OG. How many days did you leave your plant before you chopped her. The website says 8 weeks but I've herd that these times are never accurate. Any info would be very appreciated

Get a scope or a jewelers loop and check your trichs for harvest. I have found unless in Hydro and even then most breeder harvest windows are 1-2 weeks longer. I Don't start my count until I see bud sites starting where as the breeders windows are from the start of the flip. So Im 1-2 weeks longer than what they say. I bet that OG is a 9-10 week strain after visible budding starts. All so be sure you are counting finished weeks not the start of a new week.

Howdy TWS...you are exactly right. Almost every strain runs longer then what the breeders say. Checking color of trichs is the primary and best way to check for peak ripeness but that to can be a bit iffy just depending on what type of high you like. In some strains, the trichs will never turn...they will stay clear. In my experience, Dead Head OG always takes at least 9 to 10 weeks to finish...always.

True . Some Hybrids won't amber up much but they will always go from clear to cloudy.

Thanks for the info. I do check with a 420, 60-100 times magnifier. It is my first time growing her so I thought I would see what other growers are doing with the strain. I'm also growing some kosher kush and some pineapple chunk and compared to the others the Deadhead Og started mass resin production at 3 weeks into the light change. The others didn't have a speck.

After awhile you'll be able to look at the swollen calyxes and the receding pistils and the color changing on the leaves and they won't drink as much water/food...and you will know she's ready :bigjoint:
