No wonder our country is sucking so bad at science. People in this country hardly even understand what science is anymore. Just a bunch of tools for the religious right. Hard to blame them though -- conservative brains are more susceptible to fear, and fear is the driver of everything conservatives do. Religion? Fear of death. War on marijuana? Fear of the effects on society. War on gays/blacks/hispanics? Fear of those different from them. And so on. It's all based on fear, and when they get in trouble and need to manipulate the masses, they use fear for that too. It's happening now; they're ramping up the fear-mongering. When you don't have anything *real* to run on, try to scare people. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. It won't work this time. People are too pissed to be afraid of the boogeyman this time.

I agree that there are workers that benefit from the corporate existence, and I am not totally against corporations, just the way they are run. Them top dogs get way too much of the pie, and since they aren't really responsible for what they wrought, they basically do what makes them the most money, fuck responsibility. Come on now, allowing them to run wild over workers and the environment, cranking out job cuts and fucking over the environment, for the almighty bottom line. That is what I find reprehensible with capitalism, their almighty bottom line. hey it's allright to make a profit, but when it's at the expence of everything else, then it's no good. The basic premis of corporations is flawed.
I just erased a half hour of reply .. I'm sick of both parties.

I think Palin is good for the Rep ticket... period. Hashing out what I think vs what anyone else thinks is becoming a waste of time..

Good luck to whoever wins.. I hope it's the Americans.

When her religious sect start flying planes into buildings and beheading people,.. Then I'll worry about them. Untill then muslims have the spotlight.

Can't believe you (proverbial you) choose to ignore that fact <buildings/planes
Did you hear the speach by that freak from that church?! "not God bless America, God Damn America" .. maybe I'm mis-quoteing?

And why is it so hard to believe that men and dinosours existed at the same time.. you have someone tell you that they didn't.. first hand?

I'll say it again.. she's the only one that isn't a good ole boy...
I do want change.. I'm not up for BarryOs type of change...

Fun it is..
"James Charles Kopp (born in Pasadena, California on August 2, 1954) is an American citizen who was convicted in 2003 for the 1998 sniper-style slaying of Dr. Barnett Slepian, an Amherst, New York physician who performed abortions. Prior to his capture, Kopp was on the FBI's list of Ten Most Wanted Fugitives. On June 7, 1999 he had become the 455th fugitive placed on the list by the FBI. He was affiliated with anti-abortion group "The Lambs of Christ." He has been referred to as a terrorist by the National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism"

Every religion has religious extremists, But you can't characterize a whole religion by its extremists although it is tempting. I know that there are still good christians in this country even if it is sometimes tempting to just characterize the whole christian religion as a bunch of irrational, illogical, fearful, fundamentalists. This is the case with Islam too its easy to consider them crazy hateful terrorists but this is simply not the case. Islam like Christianity is a religion founded on goodness and virtue, certain groups just take it to far as with christianity.

Im not a religious person so saying "god damn america" doesn't hold as much power with me as it probably does with you 4maggio. But what the reverend was probably expressing was his disgust with the way the american people and the american government have been behaving the past years. Don't take my word for it though because i honestly am not very knowledgeable about this whole church scandal.

Its hard for us to believe that people and dinosaurs existed at the same time because of SCIENCE to put it simply. If there was any scientific implication that we existed at the same time i would have to give the issue a second look. But Anthropology, Biology, Archeology, all say the same thing, dinosaurs came before humans, and humans evolved from primates. why dont people see it, the bible is full of great metaphors, and outdated explanations for natural phenomenons IT IS NOT MEANT TO BE TAKEN LITERALLY!!

I like how before Palin was chosen as VP all the republicans were going around saying how he was not experienced enough, he wasn't proven, he didn't have enough experience in washington. But now that Palin is on the scene he has somehow magically morphed from "too inexperienced" to one of the "good ole boys" in just a month or two...

Are you denying the fact that he is one of the good ole boys network?

His friends are corrupt businessman, in his 4 short yours as Senator he has became the 2nd largest receiver of Fannie's largesse. His supported the Bail Out.

Do you think that it might be possible the reason why we are now saying that he is just part of the same good old boys network is because his actions have spoken louder than his words, and the people that he chooses to associate with, also speak louder than words?
