To Lighting/Pc grower experts

Wasssup Rollitup not sure if this is the right place but it said newbs n thats what i am lol

I been reading around getting my knowledge up on the whole topic and basics of growing needs and how to care for plants
I'm still confused about alot of things I"ve seen just things I don't understand lol
I'm going to start growing either Purple Power or Thai strain of bud and i'm going to be using it in my PC once i gut it out(a spare one of course)
my question to everyone out there(I'll have many lol) would it be wise to get those seeds growing in a small space and I jus have a fear i'll mess it up because idk anything about specific lighting they need
my goal is to do a DWC in the computer since i've seen great results with that

now for the strain i'm using i'm debating on using purple power or the thai strain...since thai is indoor i was thinkin that...but i love the purple buds much better lol so thats a tough one because i won't know the lighting and all that

I currently have one tower not sure of the size specification yet but its just a normal one and i'm trying to get another one for vegetative and one for flowering so I can keep the mother plant/clones in a single place and another for flowering

so this is what brings me here i'm going to be buying most of my supplies at walmart or Lowes but i'm not sure what specific lights to get...where to get marlyr....and i don't know how i'll be constructing it lol

can you guys plz drop a list of items i'll be needing to construct a great pc grow box?? and if you can (not sayin you HAVE to) get on MS paint and design the growbox and where lights n all the stuff would go..i appreciate any help you can give


I'll be growing this in bout 3 weeks once i get settled in my new apartment and getting information from you guys will help me understand it better instead of jus checkin on the internet for updates on how to take care of my plant instead of me just doing it myself lol

I also need a flowering thing if I can't get an extra pc tower...and for stealth would I be able to have a reservoir and put lights in a rubbermaid container say bout 5 gallon one with mylar all around it so it wont be melted by the light? plz help!!

You should look for a shorter strain...check out Big Bud...you realize your not going to get clones and a mother in a pc case though right?

lol see thing slike that would be helpful i'm new to growing it i was thinkin mother the plant in the pc until its big move it somewhere else then have clones in it then i read around on here ppl said its not that much bud that'll be produced in it..do you recommend any other methods besides expensive cabs i'd have to get or anything?

Dude it's expensive to get started growing inside. Even if you are very crafty its hard to get by cheap. If you grow in a pc cab you might be lucky to get an oz. Not sure if your growing weed to smoke or sell the latter is a expensive set up. You can Closet grow but you still are looking at spending alittle money. Do alot of reading online....work up your budget....purchase your equipment and everyone here will help you out but you gotta know the basics first. Check out the growers guide on this page...watch tons of you tube videos and learn all you can...Good luck and happy growing

Quickest, easiest, cheapest way is with soil. but you still need lights at the very least. Expect to spend $500 to just get started.

I would say you could get started for more like $200 or $250. Then you could add lighting for clones and a mother for less than $100.

$165 for a dual use MH/HPS 400W complete light system
$20 for soil (Fox Farm Ocean Forrest - try to get it locally)
$10 - 5 x 3 gallon pots (start to finish, no transplanting stress)
$5 - 5 1 gallon jugs of spring water (not RO or distilled), you'll want to keep the jugs for letting your tap water rest 24 hours to let the chlorine offgas.
$7 - Liquid pH test kit.
$9 - 4 gallons DIY pH down (most tap water is alkaline so all you need is down)

You don't need nutes because the fox farm soil has it in there. I've actually found it's better NOT to use nutes during the first six weeks or so.

That cash number could increase over time as you might want to add nutes. You can get all in one nutes for about $18 a quart so that would add $36 if you got bloom and flower. Or you can make your own by using bat guano, fish goo, seaweed, and/or bird poop for substantially less per quart.

You guys are crazy... He's trying to grow in a PC case and you're telling him he's gotta blow big bucks on lights?

All you need is soil, pots, your PC case, and a couple CFL's.

lol i said any other methods too but i did more research and i might do the two rubbermaid stacked on top of each other and just keep them in my closet and i found some pretty cheap big haze seeds so i'm planning on using that and getting the purple when i get a bigger area to grow...thanks for the help but no need to reply anymore i'll make a new thread with pics once i get it all set up
