I'm hoping you can help me out with this. These girls were germed 09-26-09, which makes them over 6months old.

This is the journal I started way back then.
https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/252064-newbs-ww-5-fems-journal.html

There is a WW (lanky in the back), and what I beleive NYPD (left) and AK48 (right) from nirvana

I thought they should have been done LONG ago.

About half the hairs are red, if that, and I'm still getting new growth. There aren't many trichoms either.

I'll try to post some pics but my cam is pretty shitty.

The only pic with no HPS lighting is the first.

I just bought a 6 place completel aero system, and want to get that going asap.

Thanks for all suggestions.

U say there six months old how long did you veg them and how long have they been flowering with 12/12 lighting?? they look nice and dense and about ready to come down. I would also suggest u flush for a week and chop those babies down!! They look great and those colas are huge. Just curious how long they have been flowering for and i could give u some more help

from fdd's harvest tutorial-
we will start with ripeness. most people say to check your trichromes with 30X magnification. i have other ways. when buds are done they look "done". the appearance of the bud changes. the leaves start to hook upwards and become hard and crispy. the calyxes will swell and the hairs will turn brown. you can see a golden tinge to the bud leaves. this is the amber crystals. they start to turn amber on the leaves first.

not ready..........

ready.......

notice the difference? it's pretty easy to see once it occurs

Thanks man! I got the indoor mix from nirvana, but I'm pretty sure that one is a NYPD, it smells like pure diesel fuel :)

I was thinking about the same thing, I'll flush from now on and hope for the best!

Thanks for the input!

Hahahaha ya i didnt notice that at first. without the fan leaves you dont get the light needed. Did you chop them all off to get better light to your buds?? Your only suppose to take a few fan leaves off if any if your going to do any trimming i would cut a few fan leaves in half and only where needed

get out your scope and check trichrome color.. clearish to milky gives you a nice upity high and milky to bronze gives you more of a couch lock type high.

Vegged about month and a half-2 mths, then switched to flowering.

I keep putting it off, because Those cola's keep growing bigger, and Every day I'm getting white hairs that are popping straight up with new growth on the buds.

Well that would have been nice to know!

I was trying to get as much light as possible to the buds.

Thats exactly what happened.

Should I leave them grow til I get fan leaves growing back? or should I flush and chop anyway?

Let me know

You are in flower... you won't get them back .... chop em when you feel they aren't deteriorating.

Fan leaves are the ENGINE.

im torn, part of me wants to say chop it and part thinks of the fact that alot of noobs(no offense meant) make this or similar mistakes and still somewhat salvage the grow and like you said you got new growth happening still so that means its still growing, how do the trichs look? alright, i thought about it and re-looked over the pics and your info and i'm gonna say flush and chop her, them buds look pretty dense and pretty good. dont forget to come back and give us a smoke report in a few weeks

Depending on humidity if he waits too long.... they will mold.

I grew two out this winter with the light reversed (outside) just to watch what happened. They flowered as they should have like an auto. I specifically planted these so they would catch the increase of light AFTER they flowered.

They looked like his.... all tiny and thick leaves around the developed colas. They were small of course because of the time of year.... but in the end I chopped them because when I opened up the inside....some of those tiny leaves were shaded and yellowing..... which means disease is about to get a foothold on them.

I was simply curious.... question answered.

So unless he can keep humidity low.... chop'em.

As long as they seem VITAL, and he sees some trich IMPROVEMENT.....okay ... if not...as soon as he can see they are losing their grip....chop'em.
