To Chop, or not to chop, That is the question (Speed devil Auto in Hydro)

Hi all.
I have a Speed devil that has been covered in cloudy tricromes for 2 weeks, however ive only seen a single amber one (and I cant find it now).

80% of the hairs are amber/brown, strangely it seems there are 2 fresh ones right at the top?!?!

Is it possible that she is as done as she will ever be?

She is a Sweet Seeds Speed Devil in a Wilma 8 (ph 5.8 PPM 1000-2000)
Initially she was in a rockwool cube, bus as she was stunting really badly, I did surgery to remove her and now she is just in the Clay pellets

her sisters didnt get stunted, so they are budding nicely, I just want to use this little girl as a tempory measure to stop me thinking about borrowing some bud from the bigger girls

triacs.jpg
this was taken a day or 2 before the tricromes stalled. They are probably about 90% cloudy I think. Or maybe im reading them wrong??

If needed, I should be able to get an up to date pic.

Let me know what you guys think

I see lots of amber in that pic.... Or is it just me?
But will it blend, that is the question. :D If i were you I'd chop it after 3 days.

is it like that all around? the top will be done before the bottom? are you seeing any amber on the lower bud? if so I'd go ahead and chop.

OK, managed to get some pics without messing with the lights:

IMAG0233_1892x1067.jpg overall shot
IMAG0234_1892x1067.jpg overall shot of her and her sisters, The 2 behind her are the same age,
IMAG0235_1892x1067.jpg This is her sister that got moved to soil after discovering they were both stunted. This was the smaller of the 2 (it is SAD though) Originally these 2 were in the same pot (the one that the SD is in) and it was the same setup as the pot to the left in the previous shot, difference being, the bigger pair (Iin the pot together) are 2 weeks younger

So, back to my Q.
How long till the chop, preferably for a nice heady high

Erm. Hate to say it, but for a bud that's growing under 400W that looks a little bit, well...crappy I'm afraid. Why is it so short? Did it really only grow that tall since July?! When did you switch to 12/12?
My guess is that it isn't done, but it's pretty terminally fucked, so whether it's perfectly done or not is fairly irrelevant. Cut it and and focus on getting some better buds on your other plants maybe?

I have an auto which started growing in July, under 400W HPS dualspectrum, and is a few days from being picked. It's almost as short as your stunted one...but has rather healthier looking bud formation.

If your plant isn't an auto, then it's very unlikely to be ready unless you were 12/12 from seed...(unhealthy plants will mature more slowly, not faster, than healthy ones) as I said before...you might want to just cut it and focus on getting more from your others. If you did some "surgery" on the roots, then you may well have done more damage than you think..which might mean it never properly matures.

Hope your others bring you more success!

Edit: OK just noticed that it is an auto...still looks pretty unwell though, so chop it whenever you want is still my view.

i think your plant looks great, is it an auto? nonetheless it will turn out to be some nice smoke, small or not. i think if it were mine i could harvest it. it's about as swollen as its gonna get. next comes the amber degredation which you really don't want. you'll get varying attitudes on this. but it's ready. harvest now. nice job.

Thanks for all the replys. I agree, shes a bit of a mutant, but if shes destined to stop me picking on the bigger nugs, then so be it :D

All my girls to date are Autos and this was one of the first seeds that popped so all a learning experiance.
View attachment 2317328 As you can see in this pic shes a dwarf

I think ill do the chop in the morning, then start the curing process. (all good practice for the bigger girls) Kinda sad, but looking forward to it none the less.

Im glad I did a mixed bag of strains for my first one. TBH, if I had planted up just a few Single colas, id have been disappointed, however I lucked out and got bubelicious and big bang too, these are much more impressive and maybe it would be worth a "Cola Index" on packets, I.e. single Head Vs Multihead.

P.s. Is this pic a bit more what I should be aiming for?
View attachment 2317331 Can you see the pen? Im hoping for a 6-9" bud :D, this isnt the top either!

It is an auto so don't listen to that other guy, it's pretty small I'd assume it's ripe pretty much throughout. Next time you grow autos(i'm sure you already figured this out) start in the final pot because they only get so much veg and stress from a transplant causes them to be small like the one you've got.

Drying for a week to 10 days. Curing takes more time and work. Read up on both and do your bud right. Nice job.

I would normally agree with you but these are auto's smaller = less time to dry.A larger plant would take a lot longer to cure,a month or 2 maybe even longer. But i do agree with only 2 weeks is not enough sure you can get high but the taste and potency is increased by a good dry/curing.

Thanks all,
Well. I did it before bed last night/this morning (feel bad now :( )
Shes small, Real Small, But shes only my first so fingers crossed.

Well shes hung behind my CF out of sight so im not tempted to try her out.
Gunna wait till shes a little crispy on the outside (stems snapping) then Jar her up, Hopefully ill be schmoking 2 weeks after that.

I know she wont be the best smoke, but as long as I stay away from her sisters then I should be golden :)
