Hey 40... There is a thing in FAQ where you squeeze the stem just enough to slow the upward growth...and alow the lower branches to fill in...for me I'd only try if I had a whack of plants on one or two... I'd say stick to bending the top and tying..I had to do that this year too.....

i just have to go n get some string n its off to bending my babies down too!! they stick out of the weeds WAY to much n i need to do the LST to keep a lower profile n so my babies get all the sun the need inside n out!
