Titan Timer problems

I have a Apollo 8 timer. http://www.amazon.com/Titan-Controls-Apollo-Outlet-24-Hr/dp/B0042I5FF6 I have my lights set for 10Pm- 10Am off. Every morning it turns on at a different time by just a few minutes. 10:01, 10:10 , 10:04 etc. etc. Ive had hermie issues the last few grows so this time Im making sure I have no problems. This timer issue kinda concerns me though. Does anybody else have issues with their analog timer turning off and on at different times but just by a few minutes? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

if it is only off by a few minutes- change the timer to come on 1/2 hour LATER (subtract 1/2 hour) this won't effect the plants, and will make-up for any problems with the timer.. BUT: If you can take it back- I would!

Just my two cents but anything but the industrial metal box intermatic type don't belong in a grow room and at the very least def not your flower room. I used to have the very same problems but since switching to the above have had none. you can use those plastic ones for small fans etc but I wouldn't bank my grow on them no matter how small or large.

this is not the reason for your hermies. a min or so drift won't make any difference since both the on and off time will drift at the same time. The Dark period is the same.
On the other hand if you have a power outage with an analog timer the shift in the setting can be large, and you may not notice how large if your asleep.

For my light\dark cycle, and my irrigation timer I use digital timers which have a battery backup. Even an intermatic analog timer is only as good as the last power cycle.
They are decent digital timers are on ebay annd they are cheap. I use 24 hour analog timers for things that go on and off through the whole day like my fans and dehumidifiers that I just don't want running all the time to save power.
