Shank `em! My 87 personalities and I all vote for Crimson Shank... Go go gadget RedPheno.
Lololol...87?? Dont let them know that you value them at only 1/87 of a vote.

But seriously it might happen, so far i see 2 shades of green, some blue, and purple colors already comin out. Night time temps at 68F and they love it. Never know...come ooooon Red pheno!

Nah, not 87.. but I do claim name if it goes red pheno!! Purple is a good sign as long as we're not getting mass purples in the leaves already.. if we are, it may lean heavily toward purple.. which would disappoint me, but the Crimson Shank can always be used for another w/red pheno :D

No no, purple in the petioles and stem tops. Just a light touch of color. I think it looks good for possible reds. My buddy is about 1week out of harvest of clones of this bagseed and ill be able to see if shes got red hairs at least then.

Oh no doubt the name is all yours if its red. Hell ill send you a few beans just so you can have a Crimson Shank, or even a "Figongs Shank"
lol

Awww yeah, that's what's up! Sounds like a hell of a plant (if it pops red) to cross with Oasis(NL2) red pheno.. could definitely solidify red pheno, hellacious yield and super-tight node spacing w/decent height, but not overbearing and perfect for SCRoG - What more could you ask for?

Week 3 day 1. Today is the first day that my fingers got oily and sticky from touching Blue Widow flowers!
Fed BW & CD this morning Sensi Bloom A+B, B52, Big Bud, Carboload, & Bud Candy. PH 6.0. PPM approx. 1400. RH 35-40%. 77 degrees F.

The visual difference since yesterday is too slight to be picked up by my camera. I hope you'll all excuse the lack of pics. Ill post some more mid week.

Much love

P.S. Would anybody happen to know how long pollen can be stored, say in a refrigerator, and still stay viable?? Thanks for your input.:-P

Today is Thursday, and week 3 is coming to a close. Big developments guys. I know i promised pics and boy do i have some! I anticipated the male flowers to begin opening by the start of week 4, so i wanted to give them a chance to produce enough pollen before removing the branch and finishing it in a vase (as per product instruction). Wednesday i neglected my girls, and to my immense surprise, there were at least a half-dozen individual "bananas" open with their male parts flappin in the breeze today when i went to go check on them.

My wife assisted me as we removed the male branch from an otherwise beautifully female Blue Widow. I cleaned it up a little bit an stuck it in a vase. We used an old (but sanitized) makeup brush to caress a few open male flowers and hand pollinated both the ChemDawg and one of the Mexicans. So far, i must say, i couldn't be more pleased with the results of Tiresias Mist. Everything has happened exactly as predicted, and the final step, we will find out in 45-50 days.

(Chem breeding, Mexican breeding, Male branch)

I also noticed that they are starting to eat about 1gal every 2 days, so i am incorporated a 2nd watering during their weekly schedule. Their diet now follows a F-W-W pattern and looks like this:

Mon: Sensi Bloom 1400-1600ppm
Wed: SNS 209 150-250ppm
Fri: Black-strap 300-500ppm

You may have noticed that the 2nd "watering" isn't just water. I really like using Black-strap Molasses about 2-3 weeks into flower, as it seems to really make their resin heavy.

Apart from the obvious rockin-and-rollin the girls are doing, things that cant be seen from a photo; Blue Widow is starting to smell real funky. Like bad feet skunk. The Mexicans are smelling a little fruity almost? Too young to tell for sure. But that Chem...oh baby, well it smells like chem but with a hashy kick.

Ok thats all i got on these girls for now, thanks for stickin with it!
Much love

Hey all! Its been a little while (almost 2 weeks!) since I last posted an update because Ive been really lazy, but I finally got off my ass and I got something for you guys.

Week 6 is coming to a close for this group of girls. In case anyone forgot this grow is 4 BW, 1 Chem, and 4 Mex Bagseed. I used the product Tiresias Mist, which, according to the company description, is supposed help you make your own "feminized" seeds. I treated the healthiest of the Blue Widow's and turned it into an outstanding father. All 3 (Mex, Blue, Chem) were crossed with the Blue Widow pollen at the end of week 3.

All 3 breeding attempts seem to have taken and the flowers that were treated are all showing signs of swelling calyxes and seed formation. I believe that all the seeds will be ready around normal harvest time (9-10weeks) which means ill get a decent harvest of flower as well as my hopefully feminized seeds.

I couldn't get a good shot of the seeds, but here are some week 6 shots.

Are you running a bit higher P & K than normal, or just going as the strain requests it? And thanks for the update!

Ya i like to push my bloom boosters during late flower. I really like Mad Farmers MOAB better than H&G's Shooting Powder, but for now, due to funds, Im using a Bud Blood+Big Bud combo. Approx..1.8-2.2g/gal of bud blood and 16-18ml/gal Big Bud.

The flowers still have some weight to put on, but they are dense as fuck and putting on great resin with the combo and my 68 degree night-times.

Am surprised you don't mix your own, to be honest with you :D resin is good, density is good as long as humidity is lower to help with potential bud mold/rot.. as you know :D

I looked into making some homemade MOAB but the recipe seemed a little involved. For now its just easier for my lazy ass to just buy a jar lol. But thank you for the kind comments.

The one good thing about growing in the desert is that in my packed 8 x 8 x 8 (wall to wall), humidity is 31%!!

Ok here we go! Week 7 started off with a bang. The main girls look great, they got all sexy for their photos and they are eating around 1700-1900ppm. Night times are 67-68 and daytime temps reach 78 F. RH is 35-42%.

BW & CD looking great. Super dense to the touch; very greasy/sticky depending on what time of day they are touched. BW smell rotten like cheesey feet, but dank nonetheless. CD is hashy smelling and the denser of the two. They have 3 weeks til chop, 8-10 days before flushing starts. Anticipating 3-5oz per plant. :-P:-P

The Mexican sativa is really slow..im anticipating maybe a 14-16 week strain. Its in week 7 like the BW and the CD but it is just barely starting to put out resin. Really light and pleasant aroma. Like a melon such as honeydew or cantaloupe.

The Critical and Cotton Candy are newcomers into this thread but they have been featured in a grasscity thread of mine and I figured some of you'd appreciate seein 'em too. They are in week 3. The CM is starting to put out resin and has a bouquet of fruity bubblegum. Nothing much yet from the Cotton Candy; shes gonna be huge tho. Both are gonna be massive yeilders.

Only had a quick second to snap the pics, enjoy!

Week 7 is coming to a close and we are starting to enter into the really exciting part of the grow, in my opinion. The final 2 weeks! Last week I started to lower their (week eight) food to under 1500ppm. I set the night-time temp to 65F now that everybody in the flower room has had at least a couple weeks to acclimate. Also last week they got Overdrive (AN) as a part of the feed. This week they will again get Overdrive and then we start flushing!!

The Cotton Candy has finally developed a smell! It reminds me of a Tangerine Dream i grew about 2 years ago, but I'm sure its not done developing yet. I noticed some spotting on some of the leaves of the CC (again!) so i pulled out everybody (week7 & week3) and gave them all a good dousing of Azamax foliar (8ml/L).

I noticed that some of the tips were getting crispy, especially on the Mexicans, so also as a part of last weeks' maintenance, I flushed them all with tap(300ppm) water at a 2:1 volume ratio. Everybody looks good still and no more spotting has been seen in 2 days.

I was feelin frisky so I took lots of pics. Enjoy!bongsmilie
