Stupid is believing the same old dumbshit passed around as fact for a decade with no proof. So answer me this smart guy...how do you flush a plant grown outdoors?
Perhaps the other side of the story should be added for more plausability... Don't overfeed, don't need to flush... Better results all the way around...

chemicals get taken up faster than the plants. why do ppl use organics? chemicals are the same exact thing, just broken down and more efficient.
lol- I agree, but I see why folks like organic. I still prefer organic in my veggie garden. Otherwise I love being able to toss some bleach in my res and keep things tidy without worrying about killing the necessary colony of bennies needed for organics.

Do u put bleach in the water that sprays or while cleaning? Nice thread, bump :-)
Both, I tend to add about 6 drops of chlorox bleach to every gallon in my res since I use R.O. water since the carbon filters remove all of the tapwater's chlorine and 6 drops basically puts it back up to city water levels. It really helps keep my roots white and disease free. The plants can tolerate quite a bit higher levels without issue, but I like to use as little as possible to reach the desired affect. I used to use peroxide but chlorine has better staying power as the h202 breaks down after only a couple days. I feel that if the plant is not busy fighting off disease then it can put all it's resources into growth and believe it or not chlorine is actually a necessary nutrient naturally occuring in the soil in low levels. It sounds harsh, but I can vouch it only has positive effects for me. My res always smells sparkiling fresh and doesn't have that mildewy smell I notice when I don't add the bleach. Just make sure you use pure chlorine bleach without any other additives or scents. :)

Soo.....your saying you put BLEACH in the res where your roots are? So the plant is soaking up BLEACH?
Sounds dangerous.

Actually chlorine exists in nature and is necessary for plant growth. The 6 drops/gallon gets you roughly to municipal tapwater chlorine concentrations, many people drink it everyday... ;)

Informative thread - thank you everybody! These threads always get me laughing when the "flush vs no flush" debate gets rolling :-)

I'm new to Aero as well and I'm soaking up as much as I can. This a great thread! So let me get this right.

Flushing does nothing? This would explain my lack of taste in previous grows. Some strains I've flushed have been down right bland. I've been using FFOF for a while now.

Question. Has anyone ever LST'd while growing with Aero? I've had some amazing results using the method in the past. I'm getting all my ducks in a row to begin my transformation in the early new year. Thanks!

Well, in my opinion, flushing definitely does something- it starves your plant in the final stages of growth... ;) I am definitely of the "keep em green" mentality. There is a balance however- you cannot be over-ferting your plants the whole grow. Think of it like this- if you don't overfert, (which stunts growth anyway) - then you don't have to flush- 2 wrongs don't make a right imo...

LST should be a great coupling with aero as any training can be with any method of growth... I've never used FF products, but if you have good results then nothing wrong with that... I've really enjoyed Dyna-Gro products myself...

I flush.
Use XNUTRIENTS.
Ive never NOT flushed. Seems like there would be a "chemically" taste. Dont know, just seems like with all those nutes still present you would taste them. Guess its a matter of preference.
