Tips on Stealth Growing Outside!

If your soon starting a large scale outdoor grow somewhere hidden in the forest heres some tips to help you.

Finding a spot:

1. Use google maps to find a spot: from a satalitte view youll be able to sus out spots that would be good to grow in with no canopy to block sunlight or rain from reaching your plants.

2. Test the spot: if you have the time or resources before the growing season starts just pop an unimportant plant in the spot or even leave $20 sticking out under a rock so if some one sees it they'll take it and you'll know you need to keep looking for a new spot.

3. Cover your tracks: when your accessing your spot regularly a path will start to form so try to avoid stepping on bushes or snapping branches, when leaving use some foliage to cover the entrance to your path.

4. Move supplies at night: this one explains itself, you don't want to walk past some random while your holding 6 20 gallon pots or 10 liters of water.

5. Never leave anything traceable at your spot: for example you just plant some seeds you got mailed and you leave the envelope in your supply box, the cops will be knocking at your door in no time.

6. Don't tell anyone youre growing: yep this is the number 1 rule of growing weed but you gotta remember how important this is.. Trust me.

7. Use pots: you'll be able to control nutes, flushing, size but most importantly you'll be able to haul ass if someone were to find out about your plants.

8. Use 3-5 liter PETE recyclable bottles with a carry handle: PETE/PET bottles are made with a special material that actually filters water when exposed to UV rays.

9. Don't use a regular route to get to your spot: people notice patterns, if you walk past someones house twice a week at the same time on the same day on the same route, people will get suspicious and follow you.

10. Take a detour sometimes: every now and then you can purposely walk the wrong way, like in tip 9, if someone if following you it will throw them off.

11. Always check your spot when you're leaving: this one speaks for its self.

12. Grow near water: if you're doing a soil grow this will be very beneficial, and can be very handy if your growing in pots

13) spots with multiple areas: if you can find a spot with multiple areas (separated by bushes or pathways), that can be good to isolate your male and female plants if you plan on making seeds

14) transporting: take a empty cardboard box to your spot when you need to box your plants put the box over the plant and hold it by the rim of the pot, this way it wont get damaged by other tree branches when moving through the bush.

(More coming soon)

Cool tips, like don't let your wallet slip out of your pocket, like a story just recently.
But, the only thing I noticed that has a flaw, is Google maps, even Google Earth only get updated every few months, sometimes less frequently depending how far out in the boonies you are.

This one increases risk of discovery, particularly using containers which are easily spotted from the air.

I utilize available native plants as cover, then plant randomly among them so cannabis blends in. And chopping down trees for sunlight is another no-no, choppers look for that as well.

And I refuse to plant at night, for the simple reason there is no reason to be out there during those hours. I find it safer to play photographer and carry my camera during daylight hours, nobody will question that daypack full of plants b/c they assume you're carrying photography equipment.

Water always attracts people, fishermen in particular...this makes creeks a much better option than that huge lake.

Are you adding more and more tips as you make more trips and find them out, or just as you have another hit and think of it? LOL;-)

Another important thing to remember about guerrilla growing is the less you frequent your spot, the better. I know we all like to admire our growing beauties but the more you traveling into dense woodlands the more of a possibility you have of being spotted. Try only visit when its 100% necessary and if possible use small piping and a creek near by for an auto-watering system to cut down your visits even less. Ideally you want to only be at your spot for 3 reasons:

To feed
To check for insect infections/animal attacks
To harvest

Other than that don't spend too much time there. Its better to have someone stumble across your grow with no one in sight than to catch you in the act sitting under one of your bushes blazin' a doob :bigjoint:

And like mentioned above, its better to go during the day with a reasonable excuse of being there ( taking pictures with a camera, walking your beloved pooch etc) than at night.

great advice its hard to stay away but you have to. just adding a little to what you said make sure if you have a watering system to cover the hose you dont want a hunter to trip over it most people will just walk by a plant but if they find hose in the woods they might want to find out where it goes lol

Something I forgot thats very important too thanks for adding knight :) Another thing to note is animal patterns ( tracks, pooh, checking fruit for bite marks ) and other natural things around your area to determine the best area for your grow. You don't want to visit a deer ravaged grow patch one day  and to note the insect behavior too, you can learn alot from the environment if you just take the time to look and process the natural beauty around you :peace:

i have to dis agree with some of this.. i wouldnt put in pots. 1 prints. 2 have to water more often. more trails. i wouldnt put a 20 spot for someone to find. maybe a few coins. iv used old cell phones iv found broken on the street. some sees a iphone there going to pic it up and check it. alot of time if its broke they put them back. if you remebr how you placed it youll do better. if i find a 20 on a rock with anther rock on top. im going to look around and leave it. and come back anther day.
