Hey Weed Nerds, looking for some tips/advice on making kief/dry sift/DIE (dry ice extraction).

I know theres a lot of info out there but I just wanna hear how some of you guys make it.

I've got lots of Romulan trim and I want to make the best possible dry extraction, so what would you guys suggest?

I'm really liking the looks of Dry Ice Extraction..

What up Budologist. I recently did some dry ice with old, dry trim with some of Wacky Willie's bags. The ones that are all mesh. Just threw in the trim with some broken up dry ice and shake, shake, shake. Awesome results to say the least. I used a 78 and 90 micron size. I then got a clay extruder from Makin's Clay for maybe 17 bucks on amazon or ebay, I don't remember, and pressed my kief into hash. Michaels craft stores carry them also(there is a stainless steel version for a few more bucks that I have heard is more sturdy, but if I take it slow while cranking it down I shouldn't have any issues with the aluminum model). I can keep it much longer pressed. Peace.....Nerd Out!

not really worth it imo, you can only shake it for a certain amount of time before you starting getting the green shit. The dry ice turns the trim into powder after a good shaking. So the green matter is broken down to the point that it slips through the bubble mesh and into your thc. If you decide to do it only shake for about 1 minute to get the top notch.

What up Nerds.....Kevdogg does have a point, you have to watch what you are doing closely to determine when you are shakin' shake through there. One thing you can do with the mesh bags is put your frozen dry trim in there and shake the piss out of it without the dry ice and you get the most top shelf, cleanest kief in town before you've even touched any dry ice. I think that is why I liked the all mesh bags, it comes out of everywhere in a hurry. I will try to snap some pics with my regular ol' camera. Peace Tom

P.S. This was made from some 2 year old pure sativa plants (18 footers in the shade) that were merely kept in ziplocs and found 2 years later. You would not want to smoke the bud but the kief was quite palatable and gives you a nice uppity buzz as well. Surprise, surprise, surprise. Peace

Sorry,no tips for you Budologist..I'm lazy and bought an O Kief tumbler..It's the bees knees..Insert a couple of dry/frozen zips of sugar trim, and scrape the glass in a little bit..I'd highly recomend one to anyone that wants dry kief fast and easy..

My first try was a 220 work bag and I put the trim and ice in the coffee grinder and pulverized. Then I put the ice/trim powder in a quart ball jar put the 220 mesh over the mouth and screwed on the lid ring to hold the mesh. Shake over glass and get a pile of green sticky dust. Got a weird high from breathing the dust so I put on my paint respirator. Got this:

I did everything wrong - screen size too big, pulverized the green, shook hard and it still tastes like prime old school hash :)

Smoked this stuff the whole week I was off two years ago for Christmas. I lost 20 pounds working out and fixing up the house. It was the best Christmas vacation in a long time. I only had to stop because I started getting hash cough.

A friend of mine used it for back pain and said it worked better than Vicodin :)

My advice FWIW, try it, it is so easy. Just keep all of the things you are using in a styrofoam cooler with dry ice so they will stay cold or everything gets as sticky as if you sprayed it with contact cement :P

Cheers,
Mo
