tips on getting Big colas

Good nutes, proper care, perfect environment. Molasses I think makes the bud sweeter and more chrystally, but I feel like i heard it can add to the overall weight.

To avoid getting small nugs, get good lighting so plants don't stretch, don't top the plant for the two main colas will be smaller than if there was one main cola, etc.

Just do as much as you can to give the plant what it needs without overdoing it.

Do you mean that you want something similar to the ones that are in my Avatar? LOL... :)

Lots of light, good nutes at the optimal level and most important is your genetics! The ones in the picture are circa 2000 and they were Sensi Seedbank's "Big Bud". They were huge, but not so stoney. My current favorite is a particular phenotype that I got out of some Shishkaberry seeds from Cash Crop Ken and can be aquired through vancouverseedbank.ca.

I have been doing this for just short of a decade and a half and I'm a firm believer that genetics is your most important factor.

Good Luck, I hope this helped.

Truth! Clones of clones of clones of something your friend got and thought was dank are probably not gonna give you monster colas

Every node produces a flower/bud so the more nodes in veg however long that is or even in flower is going to give you bigger buds including all the environmental factors mentioned above. And the mention of good genetics is also very important, I concur with that. But I do disagree with the clone of clones producing less, genetic quality is not proven to be lost in cloning down the line, I feel that is a misconception although it should be taken into consideration that generally clones are flowered at a much smaller size hence the lower resultant. Or at least that is what I do and get, 4 inch rooted clones into a 8 week flower cycle producing a single cola of around 14-16 inches and 0.8-1 oz. dry.

remove the lower growth that will become popcorn buds. this is about the lower 1/3 of the plant after the stretch.

big buds = powerfull lighting , controlled room lots of nutes , lots of C02, big plants strain dependent

IMO big buds are not always good you can run into bud rot as well trying to get rid of it most buyers that see overly huge buds think there buying lots of stem from what i herd thinkin most peoples goal is to get many bud sites an get as many buds on there plant as possible for more yield

I didnt say clones of clones weren't good. What I was saying was clones of clones of clones that were never good can get passed down and will never be good. Just cause your friend's friend said it was good doesn't mean much. Your best bet is buying actul seeds so you have legitimate genetics.

Genetics plays a big part in this equation, but the skill level of the grower determines whether the flowers become top shelf or just good day weed. All the best equipment and genetics cannot create good MJ without a skillful grower. Keep your plants as healthy as possible and keep it simple and you will have the best chance for a good grow.
